| Re: Gujarat Team-BHP Meet - 28th July, 2019 What started off as a blockbuster ended like a wet firecracker. There were 21 in attendance, making it a good roll call in recent Guj meets. Post visit to the vintage car museum, rain put a dampener on the group's spirits and by the time it was dinner time, just a handful remained. While we wait for more pics to come, here are a couple. | Re: Gujarat Team-BHP Meet - 28th July, 2019 The Ahmedabad BHPians had a problem in calling this meet as Monsoon Meet. Their simple argument was "Ahmedabad mai Barish to ho nahi rahi hai, kaise monsoon meet" (There is no rain in Ahmedabad, it can't be called a Monsoon meet). So, we didn't even keep the tag "Monsoon" in the name of the meet thread. For all of us, it was just another meet. However, the Gods of rain had some other thing in mind and our "just another meet" turned into an amazing monsoon meet with lots of rain. It was a successful meet with some small blunders and due to those blunders, some of us had to skip dinner with the group. The blame of those blunders are totally on heavy rain and heavy Sunday traffic on Sardar Patel ring road, Ahmedabad. That said, it was an amazing meet with more than 20 BHPians, 15 cars and 3 motorcycles. Adi_77 along with Visgomsir were the first to arrive at the venue. I and Ry_der arrived within 15 minutes and joined them in the parking area. Zalaps arrived with his Nissan Evalia and all of us started checking out his car. An Interesting cafe from where Ry_der picked me up.  At the parking space.  Checking out Nissan Evalia.  Within half an hour, all BHPians got together at Dastan Auto world ticket counter. It was time to see Pranlal Bhogilal's amazing collection of vintage cars, of course after a group photo. The BHPians.  Vishal Tondon bought the tickets and all of us got inside the museum. Thanks to BHPian San2 who came all the way from Bharuch (200 km) to attend the meet, for his service as official photographer. Here are some photographs of BHPians observing some vintage cars.           We had a gala time observing vintage cars with detailed inputs from BHPians Khalilkhan and VishalTandon. BHPian Visgom sir's technical knowledge was very helpful to understand some of the basic features of those vintage cars. And Of course, thanks to BHPian da.maulik and Abhijeet who traveled from Bhuj (330 km) for keeping the visit alive with their funny and humorous inputs. Da.maulik recently bought a Skoda Laura and finalized a deal of a pre-owned Ford Figo that very day. Abhijeet got a pre-owned Lexus Land Crusier just last month. Abhik has booked a Thar 700 and is waiting for delivery. So, along with discussing vintage cars, we were talking about their cars also. Some more Photographs.        While we were inside the museum and busy discussing vintage & modern cars. The Gods of rain blessed Ahmedabad. It started raining heavily. Our initial plan was to have dinner at Dastan Auto World only. However, it was too early for dinner. All of us got together at the museum's reception area and started discussing cars. It was mutually decided to have an introduction session and vote for the car of the day (vintage) during dinner. It was too early for dinner. Some us suggested having some tea and sutta (cigarettes) at some roadside joint. It was raining heavily. Khalil got on his Mahindra Mojo and took the responsibility of finding a tea joint around the museum. He came back after 10 minutes and told us there was a Khetala Apa tea store just two or three plots from the Museum. That tea joint was on the right side of the museum on the service road. However, due to some miscommunication, rain and heavy Sunday traffic, almost all of us took a wrong turn to left and got lost in the rain and traffic  . It was a tough task to take a U-turn on the ring road, so, many of us called it a day drove back to our homes.Only 6 BHPians out of 21 made it to that tea joint. We spent one hour at that tea joint. In the end, I, Pathikp, R-Six, Visgom sir, and Khalil had dinner at Honest and called it a day. We didn't get to decide the car of the day. We were not able to take a group photo of cars. We didn't have introductions session. We didn't get the chance to have dinner. However, for all of us, it was an amazing Sunday evening spent with like-minded people with a flavor of vintage cars and heavy rain. After the meet, the one question that was being discussed in the vibrant WhatsApp group of Team Gujarat was "Agli meet kab rakhe?" (When is the next meet?)
