Here is a report from me.
Had spent a good part of the early morning washing my car and cleaning the interiors.
I reached woodlands drive in at 11.30 am just behind nitrous. Esteem lover and few others were already waiting for us. It was a hot day and all hopes of rain were dashed to the ground.
Manek made his grand entry with his immacutely maintained pre-owned RD350. Everything on that machine was stock, original and was gleaming - paint, chrome, everything. Was treated to a ride around the block on the RD and it was fantastic. No high speed run but a nice sedate ride. She sounds lovely but IMO a lil louder would be even better.
The rest of the gang - Islero, Bottle, 16c100bhp, etc trickled in one by one. Intro's were followed by some car talk - what mod's and what performance, and the heat was getting too much. Soft drinks arrived and the dreaded question was thrown at Manek - Yewlo mileage? (what's the mileage on the RD?)
Here is the list of the cars and owners.
1. E_L - Esteem (metallic Green - Alloys and michelin XM1's)
2. Nitrous - Wine red Ford Ikon (Universal K&N)
3. Bottle - Spanking new Black Palio Stile 1.6 (stock for now)
4. 16v100bhp - Yellow Palio S10 1.6 with free flow and K&N
5. Neoranjith - Pearl silver Esteem (Stock 2004 model).
6. Supremebleno - Black baleno with alloys.
7. Me (aditya) and my pearl silver esteem - FFE and K&N.
Hope i havent missed out anyone else.
Finally we decided to head to Moonrakers in Mahab's. Nitrous and E_L left their cars behind as we had more cars than required.
The drive to mahab's was spirited and fun. No racing of any sorts.
Islero was my passenger and on one stretch he was stunned with the performance of my car.
I gear - 55kmph
II gear - 110kmph+ (needle was between 110 and 115 kmph)
III gear - 165kmph.
(All above fig's are speedo readings).
Finally there was a bhp'ian who had witnessed it. All those comments - not possible, ur kidding, blah blah was blown to bits.
We reached Moonraker in a short while and we got a large table on the topmost floor.
Beer and food were ordered - lotsa squid, beef, fish etc. Surprisingly no chicken. After a few beers and lotsa food and loads of car talk, we settled the check and headed back to town. Time was 5pm.
Stopped on the way for a fotoshoot and i slipped into the racing seats of the yellow palio. The seats were awesome. Grip you really well when you take tight turns and the quality was appreciable.
After some snaps we headed back to Woody's, bid goodbye to each other.
It was one beautiful meet. I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks everyone.
Wish the rest could make it - Slipstream, Madan, surprise (surprising even nitrous, our seasoned member hasnt met him), octavia2, sideways, proxima, subbu, etc.
Now guys please post the snaps. Hope u all liked the report.
