BHPian LONG_TOURER was in a hurry to leave since he had some registration related work in Guwahati and so he decided to leave very early in the morning, at around 4. BHPian ChiranjitP and Yogi..Reeturaj also decided to join him. Rest of the team for Guwahati decided to leave in the morning and so did I along with DevOnWheels for Calcutta. This is what the Octavia gave me in the early morning in the name of a picture when it was pitch dark :



A meet up of like minded friends who were bound by the common love of cars and travels and linked through a forum like TEAM-BHP thus came to an end. Every evening for the last two days, the interactions and getting to know the various facets of the members was a delightful experience for me. We all immediately resolved to make another trip soon and that these meet ups should happen more regularly.



We did our quick breakfast and the resort guys also made us some packed sandwiches for the road. By the time both the Ecosport’s started, the Octavia was having a field day on the open highways and was midway through to Guwahati. We finally bid good byes at the bifurcation at Maynaguri where one side goes towards Guwahati and the other side goes towards Siliguri. Not too many cars as one would expect for a TeamBHP meet but memories created anyways, which is what ultimately remains. Some more pictures :







My Return leg was uneventful and pretty boring if I may say so. The lunch was great though at my usual stop at Gazol. Both me and DevOnWheels reached Calcutta without much fuss while reminiscing over the the chit chats. He vowed to convince people for some more participation next time, almost single handedly. BHPian Samit was solely missed and I hope he will join for our next meet whenever that happens. And for the ones who missed out this time, I hope they join the next one.

Long drives and quick crisp tlogs have become synonymous with you Abhi. This captures the essence of our meetup. It was wonderful meeting all the guys under one roof amidst the beautiful surroundings of North Bengal. We should do this again.

Finally the first official meet-up of TeamBHP Assam crew . Certainly a bad miss for me.
Going through the thread made me virtually re-living those moments. Congratulations to all for making this happen, sorry for our better half's. Congrats BHPian LONG_TOURER for the Skoda, at last the suspense ended . Wish you millions of kilometres with your car.

Hope this is just the starting and let's plan for many more meet-ups in coming days.

I have recently moved to Jorhat from Bangalore, couldn’t attend this meet as I am at Lucknow for the whole of Feb and March.
What caught my attention was an Octavia being purchased from Solan which is my hometown. The last I checked was that it was a really small dealership there.
Hoping for the next meet to be organised more eastwards, maybe Kaziranga!

It was a very long due overnighter by us Assam BHPians. Although there has been multiple morning meetups and a few night outs by small groups of 2-3 members, but spending 2 days with like minded folks was something everyone was eagerly waiting for.

A truly enjoyable and memorable trip it was.

Awesome meet up. I actually did not see the forum for a few days and missed it altogether. I was driving around in the vicinity at that time, and would have loved to meet the guys. When Reeturaj called that day, I was already past Damdim towards Gorubathan, having spent the previous night at Jaldapara.

Amazing meet and beautiful write up & pictures ! Considering North Bengal - Sikkim are favorite places to drive for Kolkata Bhpians, we can surely have more multi state meets on the hills

We have few of our members from Jorhat already, so great to hear from you docsinghal. We will soon be having another meet in Assam, do keep an eye on the meet section for announcements. It will be great to meet you in person next time.

As Samba said above, it would be wonderful if that meet idea can be brought to reality Sam. Considering you have now moved westwards, your presence in one such meet would count as being a Pan India Meet
