Quick meets in TVM

Republic Day Drive to Ponmudi & Peppara Dam

As planned, we met at Gopala Pillai Park, Kowdiar and started at around 9 AM itself. After the drop outs at the last minute, there were 7 people - Sankar, Sankar's brother, Scorcher, Mukundmenon, Sanoj aka Stig, Nutty Nair (me) and Anupambusaboy for the drive. There were two cars, A Star belonging to Sankar & Stig's City. Introductions over and the drive to Ponmudi started without much delay. It was already decided that we will first go to Ponmudi and on our way back go to Peppara Dam. The road from Kowdiar upto Anaad was a mixed bag of smooth tarmac with broken patches and potholes thrown in. But from Anaadu upto Ponmudi the road is in pretty good shape and a delight to drive. Soon we reached Ponmudi. After spending some time at the top, we decided to go to Peppara. We stopped before the detour to Peppara and bought some soft drinks and water as all of us were thirsty.
The road to Peppara Dam was in bad condition and the two cars were literally crawling for most of the 9 kms to the dam. But the scenery around the dam was worth it. We had a lovely time chatting up all the subjects we T-Bhpians usually do. But it was getting past lunch time so we decided to head back to Trivandrum. On the way back we had our lunch at Nedumangadu. Mean while Pramod had called and asked whether we could meet him at Technopark. Sankar and his brother headed to their house while the rest of us headed towards Technopark. But we saw Pramod's car on our way and contacted him. The venue was relocated to Kabab opposite LIC. Had some refreshments there and after chatting for some time decided to call it a day.
My thanks to all who came for the drive. I really enjoyed all of your company. Hoping to see you all in future meets/drives.
PS: A special mention of trrk who is not in our midst now, but was remembered by us this day.

Sankar - Bhai, next time we are going to a place where you can also join us in the fun. I think our next destination should be a beach. That would be good for you too, I think.

This was a proper, short, fun and a very well-executed drive.

I'm game for anything this sorts. Nutty, plan something with that Agasthya thing and Bona thing. We'll do it!

Lesson learned: Hit gym before anymore of these rock climbing exercises comes-by

Been ages since we met

How about a small drive to the latest CCD at BPCL PETROL BUNK THONAKAL.

Its roughly 12kms from Technopark and 25 kms from the city. The place has enough space for parking.

We can start by 4:30ish so that we reach there by 5pm; have coffee,chit-chat, check out cars etc and disperse later?

Since we have a good head count at Technopark, can we have this one a week day; I am looking at 25th May 2011.

So, drive to CCD at BPCL PETROL BUNK THONAKAL, on 25th May 2011, by 4:30pm ?
