What a meet it turned out to be!
Had an unexpected attendee (caught Khan on his way home @ the NICE road!) and some great (exiting) offroading.
The meet is still going on; myself and gods_envy dropped off a bit early. So this is just the first set and my photos are not anywhere near of what is to be expected.
PatchBoy had done some great photos.
Now, I will let the photos do the talking:
(from left to right: PatchBoy, Gods_Envy, Kittu, Khan)
All of us taking a look at Kittu's new ride! What a machine it is! Driving it is a pleasure. The steering did not feel too rough, even though it was not PS, and the gear, they slot it like butter! Great vehicle, Kittu!
The line up (or what can be seen!)
The little master with its master - VJ with his Alto.
Off goes the guys searching for an off-roading stretch.
The challenge!
Kittu was convinced to take up the challenge and off he goes.
And finally he got stuck there!
PatchBoy's photos will take the sequence from here.
After a lot of pushing and digging finally we got it out.
Taking a rest after coming out of the slush!
Going back up the path.
And he does it without a second thought!
The vehicle which came all clean and neat became like this!
Then spend some talking while we waited for the rest of the team to come down.
Some time later, Inder joined us and then the team headed off to meet Akroy, MJothi & Btinikar who were driving down.
Myself and God_envy took leave and came back home.
That all from me.
A wonder meet - got to see VJ's beautiful Alto and also check out Kittu's beast!
Thanks for the great time guys! :thumbs up
Drat!! I had to miss this one. Keep the snaps coming. Way to go guys!!!
Looks like you guys enjoyed quite a lot. Nice pics happywheels. Keep them coming guys...
Suresh! Awesome pics and definitely it turned out to be a very good meet. It was nice meeting up with all of you guys and of course we thrilled ourselves with minor OTR and kudos to your exemplary effort in pushing "Kittigadu's Jeep" out of the mud slush.
Met up with akroy, btirthankar and mjothi during the later part of the meet and definitely a nice meet to end it all.

Here are the last few from me. I stopped after the off-road event - had too much mud all over my hand.
A vehicle, bang in the middle of the highway, for a photo shoot! Thanks to NICE. :-)
Photograph the photographers!
VJ: Will my Alto do this track?
Where everything else failed, these sheep's succeeded in slowing Kittugadu!

Just couldn't resist the chance :D
Thats not a hut. Enter if you can swim
The master lectures on OTR and the students are fascinated
Knee deep in hot waters..I mean slush
So what if I lost my footwear? I pushed you out, didn't I?
Let me outta here
Inder arrives. Where is the Beemer?
Mjothi, AKRoy and Rthirthankar wait for us
All in all a great meet. Good fun. Enjoyed every minute of it.
Cheers,
Rajan
Guys, I enjoyed every bit of the meet and meeting all of you -- though I had not planned to attend it and HappyWheels & Gods_Envy flagged me down on the NICE road while I was on way back from office.
Nice pictures Rajan & Suresh.
@Kitti: You have an awesome machine mate. take care of it. It rocks..
PS: am down with heavy cold/sneezing now :-)
and VJ, your wifey called my wifey and told her where I was -- not in office from 3.00 pm :-(
Cheers,
hi guys,
this was my first meet and i enjoyed every bit of it (though i couldn't stay till the end)
hoping for more like this.
VJ, where are your snaps buddy :)
has anyone captured my ride ;)
@khan - take care of yourself buddy.
Nice fun you guys had there. I had been on the NICE corridor in the evening today - I wish I had a contraption that would make time travel possible.
With Rajan and Suresh doing the Pic honors, my wifey captured some pictures and truly it was a wonderful meet and we were lucky to have that part of the NICE Road on the overbridge with the entire road @ our disposal and definitely a good place for camera shoot :thumbs up.
The ramp from the overbridge connecting the N.I.C.E road
HappyWheels,Kittigadu,gods-envy checking out my ride while PatchyBoy and khan_sultan look around to find a place for the cameras to get rolling.
Kittu's Jeep engine bay was being inspected with HappyWheels looking into with khan_sultan explaining some techie stuff
Cars lined up and a OTR Crash course by our Specialist "khan-sultan" touching upon the technical details useful for newbies and PatchyBoy getting some filters for his camera from his ride
@gods-envy: This is the only shot i have of your Corolla while the OTR crash course is still on and PatchyBoy's Tripod sitting next to your ride.
Kittu and khan_sultan could not resist the mini OTR and here they go.
Getting down Kittu had different plans on seeing the muddy slush ahead
@Mahesh! You should have joined us anyways will meet you folks sometime later. Damn! Its been almost 4 meets for me now and have not met all you moderators here in Bangy.
@inder: good to meet you and sometime later would like to see your beemer for sure.
akroy, mjothi and btirthankar missed this shoot and eventually met them on the N.I.C.E road connecting the Hosur road and then we headed for some chai and finally dispersed.
Hi Guys,
It was great cheers:meeting you all ... Wasn't able to get Beemer yesterday and didnt use the camera as well.
Actually, thought won't be able to make it as I had plans of movie and guests coming in the evening, but Wify insisted should meet up, after all ..it's likeminded people who love their cars and take good care of 'em. I reached at 7:30PM, back to Basaveshwaranagar
Will meet you guys soon in upcoming meet.
Ranjan,
Thanks for the pic... Didn't realise you already took a snap of my ride in such a short time..clap:
VJ,
Your car looks cool ...sure will get the Beemer sometime.
This was the first time i have met the people behind those amazing posts and weird forum names.
First, i had those initial hiccups of how it would be to meet someone for the first time.
Do i have to be technically good. wrt cars
Do i have to be a talkative guy.
Do i have to take my best car insted of my plain old Maruti 800.
Do i have to to be an expert driver and all those.
Do i have to have atleast 50 posts credit in the forum.
and lastly, will we be talking only about cars and nothing else..
one thing i understood from the meet is that none of the above matters.
Its all about meeting people and making a connection, learning from others and checking out drives, sharing tea and cigarettes and suggestions and opinions and views and ideas and experiences and all those.
yeah, we can even discuss on the best techniques to pick lice out of womens hair.(yesterday we didnt do that though).
Its all that simple.
I have enjoyed every bit of it. Never did i feel that i was new and the others are complete strangers. It was more like an old school reunion.
We drove each others cars. Discussed ICE. checked out the mods. Talked about the other members on the forum.
Had some gyan on 4x4 and a mini offroading that got us stuck. now i know how to drive in slush, how to pull it out. And the most important of all,
never go alone even on the most innocent looking terrain. This did not end here, it rained mud on our way back to the nice road. While myself and khan rolled up the windows, gods-envy and happywheels had to take it all.
Happywheels is so stuck in the slush, he prayed to slush god to get the jeep and himself out and would donate his chappal in return.
Guess what, out came the jeep and in went his chappal.
Overall, it was so fun. Met the other gang of guys sometime later. By then as the light failed and nothing to shoot and do, the crowd gathered to discuss on and off road experiences. regrouped for a cup of tea and that cup at that time was heavenly. bid adieu and went home happy.
keeping this aside, I have a few things that i should have done during this meet.
1. Have phone numbers of atleast 3 people in the group. i got lost and didnt know what to do. Remembered gods-envy posted his no in the thread, called up my friend to search it for me and finally called him (Thankyou gods-envy, u saved my day)
2. Take some packed snacks/chips and water along.
3. Forgot those small goodies like an umbrella, mat, old news papers etc.
Thanks to all
PatchyBoy, khan_sultan, HappyWheels, Gods-envy, VJ_MAVRICK, Inder, akroy, mjothi and btirthankar.
Krishna.
thanks for the snaps VJ :)
The lost chappal and the muddied pants cost me a dinner trip to 'Tandoor Express', the hotel near to Banshankari BDA. All's good now! :D
that jeep is soooooo delicious.
I know this particular post adds no value to the thread, but, when I see a jeep like that, how can I keep quiet? its the 1st MM540 I've seen without a rollcage and a full soft top and it looks gorgeous.clap:
@kittu- you should do a dedicated photoshoot just for the jeep. grab rjstles or hellcat or patchyboy, find some nice trails, and make us all jealous.
