Guys -

Since we have the summers almost on us, it would be a great idea to have a meet @ one of the water parks (As suggested by Rajesh) and chill out before the full onset of the heat.

I'm listing below the options that we have available (That i am aware of) with some information on the timings and the rates. I would prefer this meet to also include respective families (We dont always want to give them a reason for leaving them out)

Option 1 –

Ocean Park – Gandipet

Ticket:
Entry + Rides Adult – Rs 190
Entry + Rides Children – Rs 130(below 4’ 6”Height)

Option 2 –

Mount Opera – Batasingaram, (Hyderabad-Vijaywada Highway ) NH-9

Entry + Rides Adult – Rs 250/-
Entry + Rides Children – Rs 225/- (below 4’ 6”Height)

Usage of all mechanical water rides (except Bumper Cars / Go Kart / Thrillarium)

Please feel free to add any other sites if any one of us is aware.
Some of us may have been to these places earlier so please share experiences. Also would request someone to do a quick recce on these sites (I can cover Gandipet).

Mount Opera seems to be good option as per the site & the rides
But, Gandipet Lake is too good to resist!

Any day is fine with me but these places might be crowded with Valentine Day budding lovers, so I suggest that we go on a longish drive, spend the Saturday night and come back on Sunday post lunch. My suggestions are here as under

Just remembered, I might not be able to make it on 28th as I have to attend a colleague's marriage. (somewhere near Srisailam)
Change in confirmation: 14th or 21st is OK for me.

Mt.Opera would have been ideal but for it being on NH9. The road to Gandipet is also as crowded nowadays. I am okies either ways.

Oh, I've been to both places over the past year and would not like to do it again. This apart, I am going to Bhubaneswar on Feb 13th to 17th. I need to guide my daughter on her 10th class Board exams starting in March.
So please don't count me in. I'm game for drives and meets from April onwards.

Im okie for any of the dates (as they are Saturdays and wont effect my Sundays)...personally prefer Mount Opera.
I heard Ocean Park water is not clean and its also obselete.

Have you tried entering from ORR? I had stayed @ Goldonda last weekend and its hardly fifteen minutes from Hitec.

I can only come on Sundays, that too if I dont have any work or meetings. I cant confirm as of now. Whether I am coming or not I shall show-up at the meeting place.

Also I would not suggest the valentine's day. I prefer 22nd if I am coming.

Forget the ocean park. Also Mt. Opera has better facilities(ok marginally priced higher than the ocean park, but lot better than ocean park). Had it been 5 or 6 years back, ocean park would have made some sense.

Except this weekend, i am game for any other weekend. I have been to Mount Opera for a couple of office outing, it is nothing but crap ( rides and food included).

We can even think of Jal-vihar on necklace road or pragati resorts ( which is not a water theme park) but very good ambience and we can arrange for some outdoor activities. Let's make it a family and a totally different type of an affair.

Btw, personally i am not too keen for a water theme park, since we need to prance around in shorts et. all, it will graphically remind me of my huge one-pack and may force me into a big depression
