Team-BHP - Next Tapri Meet

Seen lot of thinking , let me put it this way

Its Lavasa OR Mulshi

Lavasa Pros

1) me going 1st time

2) good roads

3) scnes ?

Lavasa Cons

1) Entry for all, doubted ?

2) 30% costlier lunch ?

3) Crowd ?

Mulshi Pros

1) can venture here there a bit

2) less crowded ( inside roads )

3) road to Lonavla ( dongerwadi side ) is quiet will have pleasant climate till 10 am .

4) can go to Tamhini inside roads ( need to check )

5) climate will be good till 10/ 11 am we can park at places & do some foot work here & there ( that way we will have some opportunity to chat )
Mulshi cons

1) not so good roads

2) some say its only good in rains

In any case we need to fix a good place for lunch ( around 12/1 pm )

I propose a recy this sunday at Mulshi to check spots for parking 15 cars & to walk around & Also for hotels etc .

I want to ride my bike this time ( havent been out of city for a time ) But if required for shoots I will bring Landy .

IMP : Ask the Photo Man his preferance of place , thats an important factor .:D

Sorry if i am adding a bit more confusionstupid:,
But seeing all the parking and scenic concerns..there is one alternative to Lavasa..the Amby Valley Road
And we know there are so many good hotels in Lonavla

But to be honest..i sincerely feel it is high time we finalise the locationplease:,
What i am going to do today is call lavasa office and ask them all the concerns discussed here today..hope they cooperate.

Since we have kickstarted the Team BHP Pune chapter with style,
I have also created a facebook group "Team BHP - Pune Chapter",
Since swanand and konjaril were already on my friends list i have added them,
Lets get more and more people to it.

I propose a separate thread for this meet(s). If we feel that meets are going to be sustainable & will continue to have large (more than 10-15) participants, then better follow trend set by Hyderabad folks e.g. thread for 'Pune meets - Mar & Apr 2011'.

The word 'tapri meet' was/got coined for short meetings with few participants. I don't see that these hold true now & don't want another hotel to get termed as 'tapri' like 'hotel sheetal' this time.

And I like this name too. Sort of "typical Punery word - Tapri". With 30 odd plates served in the early hours, Sheetal wouldn't mind being a "Tapri" :D

Do we really want to change this name? I guess Amitwlele had made a request in his post some pages back. I'm not sure if the mods would be paying a lot of attention to these threads. If we want to change it really, pls let me know and I'll PM a Mod to get it changed as required. (Again - My vote is to keep it as it is :D)

Means , whats in the name ? people ( US ) are more important . whatever the name is, doesn't make any difference .

We have got it on FB too ( see earlier posts ) , It says Pune Chapter ( lai chapter haye = chapter case :D ) so what ? forget the name game .

Moderators won't have enough time to read all posts. If you need their attention, use 'report post' button and state change of name for thread title.

@Sridhar: We all are eagerly awaiting your response to the call with Lavasa authorities. Just make sure, your call does not reach our Agricultural Minister :D (given the current publicity with Lavasa).

(Pune office folks were not even picking up the phone:Frustrati)

She clearly said that no prior permission is required:I Rule:,
We need to call and book a trip only if we are interested in going for any activities available there
I also stated that it would not be necessary since if required we can book it on the spot and she said that was also OK
I also stated clearly that we would be around 25 folks with around 20 cars and 5 bikes roughly, but she stayed cool even after hearing these numbers and said we could directly be at the location without permissionclap:
One funny comment she made was "No triple seat please"

In case of lunch, i guess Manas should be our best bet
