What my shadow thinks of Fort Jadhavgadh!

The pics above are taken from my old trusty E51, and were taken just a couple of weeks ago. So quality isn't going to be that great. These are just a few pics i had of the place. Those doing the Recce, will give us a full view of the property and surrounding areas.

Am planning a drive to BHimashankar , if anyones interested please let me know . I will be going on Sunday cuz I have office on saturday . Need to meet the Gods !

Wanted to go to Bhimashankar too. Unfortunately don't think i will be able to make it this Sunday. The last time we went, it was a spur of the moment decision. We drove half way and then stopped for chai and snacks, and then believe it or not decided it's getting late and turned back. I guess the time had not come yet. I remember the roads were quite enjoyable to drive on then. Well look forward to some info on Bhimashankar after your visit.

General Program ; starting from Pune by 8.00 am , checking ' the' hotel & wandering around towards Tamhini , coming back to Pune by 12.30 max

Vehicle not decided , my son ( 9 yr ) may be joining me so no holy habits ( smoke ) in the car :D

@ sudarshan saheb: you can also check Residency club at mulshi. Also just after mahindra World College, there a place called as Maval Shrushti. You can check it out as well.

@ swanand: what time are we going? I am quite sure that you are aware that tomorrow is my working day. Just thought will run it across you

@subodh: Maval Shrushti is a Pure Veg joint if I am not wrong.

And yeah, I am aware, you do work Saturdays too. We can leave by 3:30 -4:00PM. What say?

Guys, how did your recce missions go?

Checked out the walkies yesterday (JD, sorry, it was an abrupt visit to the same locality for some other purpose, decided to complete this test also).

They seem to be good enough for our purpose. Wifely and me tested them at a distance of about 50-70 feet. They are supposed to have a kilometer range. I am not too sure how many they can supply. The fellow is saying yes to a dozen walkies. I hope that he can keep his word. Here are some pictures.

lol: dot you are so excited about the walkies aren't ya! I can imagine your son telling you, "Come on Mom and Dad, act your age!"

Swanand & subodh are supposed to go on recce today and so is Sudarshan and I guess gautamkhadse. Enterprising bunch! I am ruled out for the next few weekends unfortunately. Planning a big vacation in May and need to shop around for that :thumbs up

The recce missions were supposed to be on saturday isn't it? No updates as of now?

dot, the Walkie talkies from the pics appear to be UHF ones, which will definitely have a range of a Km and more. We use almost the same ones (it appears from the pics) on board our ships. (those are marine band) If there was no crackling or loss of dialogue between you and your wife while testing and no static / noise during non transmission, you are good to go!

OK here goes the report.
Subodh and I just came back from the recce (OK, reached Pune by 3:30PM and then were whiling away time in good ol' KP).

So, we met at 11AM and left for Jadhavgadh. Like good Punekars, got lost enroute and then somehow joined the Saswad road again. The road condition is alright till Dive ghat. Once we take the right for Jadhavgadh, the road is again OK at its best. With a grand welcome, we were ushered in to the fort.

The fort is good, well constructed and pretty nice for a day outing.
The food is OK. Good spread of veg and non-veg and then some desserts. But taste was alright.

The deal breaker (as per our thoughts) is the price. Rs. 750 plus taxes. That's per head. This includes the following:
welcome drink on arrival
Buffet lunch
Tea - Coffee cookies in the evening and some refreshments.

We tried negotiating but to no avail.

Alright, looks like Jadhavgadh might be a good place to chill but the road is going to be a back breaker...
One quick question..at what time do they open..being true punekars we will land early at the fort just like we did for our early morning coaching classes..lol:
