Yes ₹11k seems alright. I've had got the door, rear bumper, rear quarter panel replaced under zero dep insurance before.

Besides the part cost mentioned here by one member the charges for painting are high and in the order of ₹4-5k roughly here in Bangalore.

These charges are also displayed in the workshops and part cost can be found online from site or Volkswagen cc. So if you add the part cost, paint cost, labour charges and taxes (missing ingredient) you'll arrive at around ₹11k or even more.

The paint charges are high but paint job in official service centre is great. Volkswagen paint job is quite sturdy too in my experience of owning a Polo highline petrol since 2014.

Many Thanks Mr. Hunt. Paint quality of VW is really very good and that's one of the reasons I was keen to get the bu per replaced at the authorized body shop.

Thanks, just by looking at the design I was able to guess that these bolts cannot handle extreme treatment. I am present with the car during the entire service hence I look at everything done by them.

I will replace these with the normal bolts before I get anything done by alignment shop. These bolts are mostly necessary when you are traveling and parking on roads.

Hi I am currently facing a problem with my 2011 Polo the headlamp switch has managed to go off its original position and now rests like this (as seen in the picture) whenever I turn off the car one of the cornering lamps always stays on (this is not follow me Home lights I checked). If I turn the knob upward or downward the cornering headlamp and tailamp alternate from left to right. Is this some sort of mode or is my headlamp switch broken ? Any help would be appreciated :)

What happens if you leave the switch to 'on' and shut the car off and lock it? Do any lamps remain on?

Then both cornering lamps and both tail lamps stay on.

For now I've disconnected the switch via the panel on the side.
Vw is quoting 6500rs for a new switch + they are 60kms away from my house I am honestly fed up with their service now I completely avoid them for both our cars as much as possible but this time I may have to just go and get ripped off from them.

I have a VW GT TSI. While starting the car today and reversing it out of my parking lot, I noticed the check engine light was on. I was a bit worried. Stopped the car, turned her off and started her again - the light did not come up. Drove for about 7-8 kms for breakfast, Started her again after my food and left for office. The light did not come up.

Is this a sign of something potentially wrong? It is quite cold here in Pune, could it be a false positive for a cold start/restart test going bad? The car has done around 21K KMs, uses only Shell petrol and has been serviced on time.

I too had the same problem in my Polo 1.5TDI. After I restarted the car, the light went away. It's been a few weeks now and everything is normal.

If the CEL comes on and goes away by itself you have nothing to worry about.
There are literally hundreds and hundreds of conditions that could throw a code.

As car age, you might get the odd spurious/random CEL. I run several older cars and it gets worse as cars get older. If the CEL doesn't go away, disconnect the battery for about 30seconds and reconnect. You will find that in many cases the CEL will have disappeared.

If the CEL remains on, or it keeps popping up and disappearing all the time it should be investigated. The ECU will store a lot of data on any CEL, but not all. So if you want to know what happened you need to hook it up to a OBD scanner, preferably a brand/model specific scanner and you might get some idea.

More advanced OBD scanner will allow you to reset the CEL, or rather associated error. It will reset everything, typically more then just disconnecting the battery.

Good luck and as long as you have no CEL, nothing to worry about.

I own a 2013 Polo GT TSi which comes with previous generation headlight assembly(single h4 bulb for both high and low beams).
Because of some failed projector upgrade(DIY) job, I would need to replace both headlight assemblies.
Any idea about the cost of the headlight assembly(pair)?

Someone posted in the forum that the smoked H4 headlamp costs around 7.5k (pair), but you can call dealer directly and confirm.

Hey Fellow Forum Members,

Well its time for my fourth service and I plan to do it before warranty ends.
Car: Vento 1.2 TSi DSG
Warranty ends on 3rd week of March.
Worry: DQ200 DSG
Thus, plan to give the car for service end of February.

1] Well my car has been replaced with the entire DSG unit 2 years back. Pretty much niggle free experience ever since, though cold starts it jerks exactly on one particular speed hump in my entire 50km travel. My DSG has the premarch 2017 SF update.
So will the company extend goodwill even after the extended warranty ends.
2] Want to get a full system scan. Any suggestions regarding the same to ensure it is done properly
3] I actually wanted to try a different oil on the car - LM Toptec 4100. Do you think it is worth it to get the oil changed separately - I don't think the BU Bhandari would do it. Will this affect the goodwill if they plan to give it.
4] Please note my spark plugs and brake pads are changed in the prior service. This will be my 4th year of service - 60k km. But my car has'nt even completed 40k km. Anymore suggestions on what stuff to be done or not done ?

PS: By goodwill i mean that i fight, quarrel and only then off course the company guys would help me out. Im not expecting a happy kind of gesture, if you know what I mean.

Hello Fellow BHPians:)

I have just joined TeamBHP and have a query regarding my newly bought Volkswagen Polo 1.5 TDI Highline Plus. I have driven it just over 700 KM till now. The RPM generally stays in 800 Revs, but for past three days it climbs up to 900 in cold start and settles back to 800 after running few kilometers. Is it completely normal or do I have to consult the ASS on this?

A feedback from fellow 1.5 TDI owners would be helpful to me.

Welcome to Team BHP. The behaviour you have noted is perfectly normal. It's is the ECU pumping more fuel to warm up the car quickly and to avoid misfires when the engine is cold. If you go to a colder place the rpm may even go up further when first started. No worries enjoy your ride.

Thank you for the information. Will keep this thread updated with my upcoming planned mods and maintenance.

I do have another question regarding bulb specifications of Polo. They are nowhere to be seen in owner's manual. I have a plan to upgrade headlamps and fog lamps to LEDs soon. Can anyone throw some light on specifications or a link?
