Pressure rinse the car with a hose to loosen all the surface dirt/mud etc. no cloth or mitt should touch a muddy surface!

start with the tyres and wheel wells(all four) > then the roof and like wise finish on the fenders and rear quarterpanels(as washing tyres leads to dirt on these panels)

after hosing the car off, use the 2 bucket technique to wash the car with a car wash shampoo!

Guys, hows the EagleOne Nanowax product? Any firsthand reviews?

Finally- the results are out!!! Have used AIO, BF and Collinite and some very interesting and educating findings for me
1. Klasse AIO is simply AIO, can be used on anything and it clearly cleans the paint to reveal whats below. Hand application of UC had visually hidden swirls and when i applied AIO, i could see those swirls back. What is interesting is that UC is a strong enough cutting compound and using that by hand also does not get rid of the swirls completely! Also AIO is claimed to remove swirls, which again i think just means- "removes when applied by machine". All in all- no machine, no swirl "removal", period!
I was amazed at seeing the effects of its usage on plastics infact, a very handy product indeed. Does not even leave any residue, one gets a feeling, how can applying "this" protect the surface for 6 months( as claimed)
2. BF wet diamond is very easy to apply and remove. If not done one section at a time, you would wonder if you have even applied it when looking at the same panel. Again wondering if it really will protect? The difference in applying NXT or liquid wax is that these do NOT haze out, when dryed you cannot see a layer like u see otherwise
The slickness is clearly better, but no idea on the "whiplash effect" as it was cloudy today
Applied Collinite to the other car, it IS durable. You can make out when applying that it will last and its a pure wax.(unlike the sealants that i have applied so far which are wax combo's)
Unless demanding an entry into a car show, this is good enough!
Going to apply another layer of BF and then collinite to finish the marathon for now, and then just top up with collinite/Quick Wax till get a DA and the monsoon is over

Till then, should I just water wash my car to remove all the mud etc.?
What is the best and safest way to remove thick mud from my car?

:Shockked:

Do NOT try this. The drill will function like a rotary. Before you know you will generate enough heat to ruin the paint. And with a home made pad !! (No please). Do not try on the bike if you love the machine. The paint bond on plastic panels are less strong than on metal. With the heat the paint will lift / strip off. In fact even with DA at higher speeds people have had the problems with the paint on plastic panels like bumpers on cars.

For the mud, hose it off. For wheel wells use a soft nylon brush with long handle - the type you get for cleaning toilets - there is one type with curved stem - after wetting the area. Some cars have thick carpet like material in the wheel wells to absorb sound so be gentle.

You can also take your car to your local gas station which has a lift and get a "water service". They will raise the car and will do the job with a pressure hose. Ask them to dry the wells with compressed air or by the time you reach home you will have muck in them.

Rgds

After I washed and used megs cleaner wax yesterday, it rained for all night and all morning. As my car is partially exposed (passenger side) to gusts of rain under the portico, it did accumulate some rain water. Nice water beading I must say:

^^ awesome result :thumbs up

can any one tell me how to clean roof of my verna ??? its turning brown and i already ordered formula 1 clean shot . but how to use that on roof fabric is a problem .

any other solutions ???

Black Asta - Thats nice, it looks like a string of pearls !

MKH - Am puzzled how can the same product (KLasse) can be applied on both paint & plastics ??

Guys, applied 2 coats of the Collinite 845 yesterday to the Beemer & it does go on & off easily, did bring in a wetter look & more depth to the color ! Will try & post sum pics,

My observations -

- The wax solidifies easily in the bottle. Since its pretty cold in Blore at the moment, i had to put it into a mug of hot water for it to melt a bit & shook it up well before using.
- Collinite seems to be a dust magnet ! Post applying went out for a ride & was surprised to see half an hour later that theres a lot of dust sitting pretty on the car, hadn't even driven through any dusty area !
- Does Collinite 845 contain Carnauba ? The bottle doesn't mention anything about it, nor does the Collinite website ! But the Autogeek website says it does contain carnauba wax. Am confused !

Notorious - Im using Sonax interior cleaner to clean the headlining material. Very easy to use, just spray on & wipe off with a wet cloth, only need to be careful while spraying to avoid getting it into your eyes !

I went through the above link on clean shot, seems to be just apply on, wait a while & then wipe off, sounds easy !

I have amway silicon glaze at home (mom's a distributor) and its been lying around for quite sometime. What kind of cloth would normally be appropriate for applying stuff like that on the car?

.
use cotton waste to apply and a micro buffing cloth to remove. get the white waste, its higher quality stuff and really good to apply

Yes! collinite is a pure carnauba wax!

Dust magnet phenomena is observed due to static charge on the surface induced by the action of buffing off the wax with a mf cloth!

dunno about solidifying, bt my waxes are kept in my room(with computers and stuff + no aircon)

computer exhaust keeps the room warm. :D

btw had a lil' mishap today!
my neighbor's Omni brushed against my i20!:Frustrati (He has vision probs!! I guess whether driving like that is illegal!?)

fortunately the 3 covers that protect the car took the impact and didn't let the scratches through!

Will be posting the video of the live action soon!

Please do post the video soon.

Apart from this, I tried Waxpol on my bike's fuel tank only, well,

1. for how much time should I let it dry?

2. And should I apply a lot of pressure while removing it? It surely is very hard to buff.

3. I can also see some bluish streaks on buffing. Am I applying too much?

4. If possible, can anybody post how to wax a car using specifically Waxpol after washing the car nicely?
Or a generalised post on how to use hard waxes like Waxpol.

5. Where can I find cotton waste?

^

-Let the wax dry for ~ 10-15 mins

- Dont apply pressure while removal, it'll scratch the paint instead!

For easy removal - just apply a thin coat of waxpol again on the panel and then immediately wipe it all off!

Try to find microfiber towels. Most car care stores have one!
