Don't worry Rohan, I am not considering their solutions at the moment. I am only earnestly praying that the dog dies asap from 'natural causes'.
In the meantime, I am also looking at deterrents which can help. A friend who is a forest officer had suggested using tiger dung in minute quantities to keep away small animals and rodents. Unfortunately there is no way to source it in a city like Mumbai.
Try Gandhigiri.
If that doesn't work, well I don't know what next. You've already spoken to that dog owner as you mentioned.

If you can manage to get, tiger urine is the ultimate and sure shot remedy. Tiger's territory is marked by its urine. In fact the dog is also doing the same.:D
By the way I too am a forest officer!
You could try marking your territory on the dog's owner's car -- and let him know.
Paste wax, liquid wax, spray-on wax - which is better?
Spray wax seems easiest .. just spray and wipe .. is it really that easy?

Paste wax any day mate!!
Leaves a long lasting shine. Protects the car from UV radiation for longer period.
Cons
Tiresome procedure . Drains out all energy to get great shine.
@geash,
You have done the 3M paintprotection, right. How is the car looking now. Any visible benefits?
3M paint protection will give the glossy shine to the car, right?
Is waxing also required every week to maintain shine and smoothness of surface?
Also, I know that you should not wax plastics. What about bumpers?

Friends,
I am facing this problem for the past many months. A neighbor loves to have his dog relieve himself on my car and bike. Nothing has helped so far. I have tried everything from humble requests to stern warnings.
I do not wash my car daily and the urine leaves a sticky residue which causes spotting on the rims.
Is there any thing I can do to prevent this nuisance? |
1. Get a king cobra to guard your car.
2. Use the dog owners car/bike for an im-promptu cook-out.
3. Start a free urban literacy programme in the evenings - dog owner's car can serve as the blackboard.
4. Do unto your neighbours as they do unto you - get yourself a bigger dog and use his car/bike/front door as its loo.
5. Dry laundry on his car / bike - smelly doormats etc.
6. Tell him you are in love with his daughter / sister / cousin / niece and pester him for a proper introduction. In return you can promise him that you will allow his dog to **** on your car in addition to peeing on it.
7. Place an ad in the paper to sell his house, car, bike, TV etc. give his landline and mobile number as well as his full address.
Cheers,

Yes. The car looks in good shine. But it is not only for shine but to protect it from minor scratches and to prevent fading of colour.
It is necessary to wax the car to maintain the shine
I dont know the protocol but i wax bumpers too to have a shine.
Ravveendrra,
Thanks for the suggestions.
For now, the problem seems to have been resolved. :)
I and the dog-owner have a common friend (actually a neighbor) who agreed to help me out. He went and cautioned the dog owner that I have sprayed the covers with a deadly pesticide, and it would be in his interest to keep the dog away. This did not work as expected and the owner did not really show much concern.
But earlier today, a stray dog got killed few metres away from my car by a speeding tempo. Although the dog died instantly, he had no outward injuries. My friend again rumored to him that the dog died immediately after sniffing the covers. This has really psyched him out!!!
My wife just called me to inform that the guy has not even ventured out in the lane today, let alone bring the dog to my car :I Rule:
Coincidentally, the timing of the events were just right to help me out. RIP, stray doggie.

Congratulations. In fact you found out a better solution compared to all our suggestions.clap:
Guys any best wax polish in market. I bought some water based polish from US. It does shine well and easy to apply, but in India weather it hardly stay for 2-3 days. I need something which actually can last for 6 days, so that I can redo it during weekends.

i'm now thinking to get 3M paint protection or surface refinement treatment after 1 year. its based on 1 school of thought that
- in any case minor scratches are bound to occur,
- New car would have good shine & can retain for atleast 1 year
- after 1 year when i get it done, it'll reduce the scratches already happened
- scratches are hard to be prevented by even paint protection
this is where i inclined to but have yet not ruled out the idea of the treatment right now altogether.
Mumbaikars - where can i find turtle platinum wax?
Guys
What is the best way to use CHamois optimum?
for washing or for drying? if for drying then for washing what is to be used? yellow/ brown/bvlue cootton cloth?
which one is the best paste wax available which give a long lasting shine?.
meguiars vs turtle wax vs formula1 vs waxpol?.
