I think it would be best to get the initial phase of compounding and polishing done by notorious as his work is superb.

You can diy in the maintenance part as its less of a headache.

Use either C845 or C476. Both of them are unnecessary. If you plan to use Relaod it is better to avoid C845 or C476 entirely. Both of these are extremely tough sealant. Reload over this will reduce the durability of Reload. It will be better if you use reload after Meg's UP.
.

Reload needs to be sprayed on the bare paint after having clayed compounded and polished the paint. Do an IPA wipedown or use eraser and then apply reload to the paint. Once it cures you can top up with 915.

Id say to avoid 845/476 because they have a petroleum base and that may affect the sealant.

Im doing it almost every week shouldnt affect the wax coating at all. You may need to top it up after a few washes or can use a spray wax to top up the diminished layers since the mud will take away some wax with it.

Hi ParthasarathyG,

How much did the karcher pressure washer cost you and how did you obtain it?
Secondly, what carpro products would you recommend?
My current stock of stuff would last me a lifetime :uncontrol. I am currently reading on the processes one must do for a minor scratch/major scratch and also dent removal as i felt it would be very helpful. Planning on making a dent repair kit and getting myself fine touchup brushes and a paint thickness gauge.

3. Clay (Claybar : ClayMagic /Mother Claybar or something)

Try getting Megs or something else, Mothers Clay is not that good. I have used it personally and found them to be very mild to my liking.

Quote:

4. Polish (I guess this is what is called Rubbing in our local dialect) Meguiar's ultimate Compound
Rubbing compound usually have only cuts. But what polish provides is cutting + restoration of essential oils to the paint, which gives paint a shiny/new look. My suggestion is to use a good polish.

5. Sealant : Collinate 476
Then after this every 3 months I can plan
6. LSP (I know know what it means :) ) Reload Spray / Colinate 915/845 periodically.
Wrong, C476 is considered as a wax more than a sealant and 845 is considered as a sealant. Please use 845 after clay and polish, then you can use 476 as a top up between the sealant applications. Moreover 845 lasts longer than 476. What you need is a strong base, and 845 provides that.

The above statement holds good for 845 as well as Reload. Both are sealants.

Here is some reading for you.

http://www.autogeek.net/qude101.html Syntetic sealants lasts longer than a wax. Please use them first followed by wax ( Optionally ) for more shine + added protection.

Hey buddy, are you sure about this? I ask because I have almost always heard the opposite.

Ooops, Just checked a few reviews of both, and I stand corrected, C476 lasts longer than C845. Thanks for pointing that out to me mate.

However usually sealants have better durability than Waxes, and it is always recommended to use sealant first or as a base coat.

Hi Arch-Angel
It cost me 13k and I got it from eBay.

CarPro products I can recommend are TarX, IronX and P.E.R.L. I haven't tried reload, but I hear its good too.

A paint thickness gauge is gonna cost you.

Well like I said earlier - Detailing stuff are like peanuts. You can never stop after trying one lol:

I know that 476 and 845 are the same just they are in different states - solid and liquid.

Hi Partha, I checked the CarPro official site and Greencarcare is not the official distributor. In fact he is the Reseller. There can be many resellers in India. There is no Official Distributor or Official Dealer for CarpPro in India so far! :)

Hi Alston

My knowledge comes from the post by @Pedaltothefloor as shown in the pic above, Greenzcarcare is authorised to distribute CarPro products in India. From my talks with Mr. Hari, his supply comes from the CarPro's factory in Korea rather than resellers in the UK or US. And in case anything goes wrong with the product, he can give backup.

Better to buy these costly stuff from authorised people only because in case of problem they are ready to support. That gives me peace of mind to buy these items.

Hey Chris, contact Mr. Nirmal. He can get you a paint thickness gauge at good prices and in a short time. I had spoken about it to him a few weeks back. He also has got one for himself. And just like every purchase from him, it will come with free training how to use the instrument whether its a DA, Rotary or a Paint depth gauge :)

Thanks Partha,

This is where I got the info from - http://www.cquartz.com/pages.php?page_id=98

Red Legend is for CarPro Resellers! :)

Might be useful for ONR users: I find it very useful...

I have asked this before in the Collinite 845 thread and have received responses to my query but am still confused. :Frustrati

Please clarify - is collinite 845 a wax or a sealant?

Which one do i use after a wash - 845 or turtle wax / meguiars nxt?

I've read that 845 is recommended to be applied first since it bonds to the painted surface better and then to apply the turtle wax, while others suggest in the converse.

Which is the best method to get the best wet look and shine on my car/bike with most durable results?

Collinite is a HYBRID, i had posted a link from the manufacturers own site here it is again
http://www.collinite.com/about-us/faqs/
Now to answer your question, let me give some gyan ;)
To have ANY wax/sealant bond best to the surface, the surface must be prepared well, better the prep the better the bonding which means more durability.
You must wash and decontaminate( using clay) and then polish ( to cleanse the surface)
Finally apply a wax/sealant. Now sealants are surely more durable and since 845 is a hybrid, common sense( forget what manufacturers marketing talk says) tells that it will NOT be as durable as a PURE sealant. This can be debated forever and has been done so at many forums!
Applying a pure sealant is a best bet to get the max durability IMHO

Thanks for your response. So after a wash, which one goes on first? C845 or turtle wax/meguiars nxt?

I don't have clay bars as yet. Will buy them sometime in the future.

After a lot of permutations & combinations, I have found that till now Megs NXT followed by Collinite 845 gives the best result - both for water beading and shine.
Have a few more planned trials in the coming weeks.
