So what you're saying is spray entire left/right side and then wipe off and keep buffing till entire cars done? I was spraying each door and wiping off and then buffing off before moving to the next door.

I used the 3M liquid wax for about 4 times over a year and then got the Turtle Super Hard shell finish wax 3 months ago.

Based on my experience, Turtle wax is a better product for a similar price. Much easier to use, lasts long and is easy on pocket too.:thumbs up

Unlike the 3M one, it doesn't dry to a hard crust and is easier to polish it off. My last application was 2.5 months ago. Since then, the car has covered 6k kms and has been exposed to 1 long drive in rain, 6 water washes and lot of dust. The shine still remains and I could the hydrophobic effect today during the 7th waterwash today.

The cleaner the paint the more the durability of any sealant or coating.
Washing->Claying->Polishing->Sealent/Coating .Thats reccomended.
However, it's not a hard and fast rule. It can be used but the durability will be less than optimal. A waterless wash is aimed at removing light dirt not to be used as a base for preparing the paint for a sealant.

I always found the idea of DIY ceramic daunting but using this was pretty easy and it claims to last 12 months after two coats. I have tried this on the Ritz and am very happy with the results after 2 months. I also recently applied this on the Polo. I shall leave you with the pictures of the final outcome. While it is slightly on the pricier side, the quantity is sufficient for multiple coats. After having used it for 3 coats (1 on the Ritz, 2 on the Polo), there's still sufficient quantity left for more.

Hi Roadmonkey - Have you used Collinite 845 in the past? If yes, is this turtle wax 53409 better? Collinite seems to be out of stock on Amazon & BBimpex and seems pricier. I am confused as to which one to buy - wait for Collinite or go ahead with this Turtle wax that you recommend? Your Polo pictures look fantastic :thumbs up

We have recently bought a new car & I want to keep it shining for a few days before the paint gets destroyed in monsoon & subsequent water washes. :Frustrati

Thank you for the tip Artyom. I got it delivered on Thursday and after escalating the issue I was invited to the service center on Saturday to get rid of these. The guy at the service center sprayed a generic interior cleaning foam all over the fabric - he said applying the foam just over the area will create marked boundaries and it is better to apply it fully - both on the door pad fabric and the entire ceiling. There is one spot near the sun visor that simply won't budge. Will the products suggested by you remove the stains completely?

I didn't realize how difficult it is going to be to maintain white interiors. I want to have something available with me all the time to get rid of smudges like these whenever it happens.

Is there any truth to what the cleaning guy said; that the foam should be applied to the whole fabric area every time instead of topically to avoid boundary marks between foam applied and non-foam applied areas? Would really appreciate some beginner's advise on maintaining white fabric interiors. I have started reading this thread from page 1, it is a daunting task, but I love my car too much to let the page count get in my way. Let's see. Meanwhile, would be grateful for a quick tip

It depends on the area where the stain is and how visible is it to the naked eye. Keeping an interior cleaner handy will surely help to remove stains as soon as you spot but sooner or later your patience will give up and you might stop cleaning them every time. Trust me it will happen.
The logic of applying foam everywhere to avoid boundary marks makes sense but it is an impractical approach. You end up having a wet interior which would require a lot of time to dry and might stink of not dried properly.
The solution I see to all your problems is either stop paying attention to minor stains and get the fabrics cleaned once every 6 months OR get seat covers which will take care of the majority of the fabric in your vehicle.
For the door panels and all, an interior cleaner will suffice. For tough stains, I suggest you get a generic APC from a good brand and keep it handy in the diluted form so that you can clean the tough stains as and when you spot it.

Maybe you should have refused the car until the damage, which is what it is, was put right. If the stain is not removable, let them replace the parts.

Seriously, the dealership has damaged your new car and should pay the price.

On the other hand, if you are not wanting to make a consumer issue out of it, and it might cost you some raised blood pressure (demanding our rights is sometimes just not worth it) then please go to a specialist detailer. Trying this fluid and that product might just make things worse.
