Hi,

@jyobeb - Only 5 speed 4WD gearbox with front and rear differential.

@Ford - Will call & give you exact part/model number in a bit as soon as I reconfirm it from M&M.

We are preferablly looking for a used gearbox as a new one will cost a bomb.

Thanks,

Viper.

I see the guys here in punjab everyday roaming about in their rebuilt jeeps.
They manage a good pickup.
The various guys keep roaming so I guess the fuel efficiancy's good too LOL.

The secret is in the engines being run.
Toyota 2c or 3c turbo engines.
Good power. Good Performance. And that toyota reliability.

How far have we reached on this front? Is the Jeep up and running or still in the workshop?

On the road this weekend. But it will be complete (with all finishing touches) by the next.

I must say, that Vipers support and attention to detail has been astoundingly high. I havent had the slightest worry in what is the first engine transplant of my automotive years.

Hey,

You might see it but not GTO. He has to take the time to come see it himself. How lazy can he get.

Viper

Anyone who is aware of my schedules will know that if there is one thing I am NOT...its lazy. As was clearly indicated, I am looking forward to seeing a complete product this time around.

Jeep Petrol?

Hey GTO/Viper,

Any updates on the Jeep? How does she perform now? Do post a review of it now compared to the Diesel engine before.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Wait just a little bit more. There were some delays but the car should be on the road in a day or two. I think for a detailed report you will have to wait at least a month since we will have to finish the running in etc.

Hi Guys,

The wait is almost over. The car is mechanically complete in all aspects and ready for delivery form my workshop. It will now go to the painter where it will be for 2-3 days to take care of miscellaneous touch ups, rim painting/polishing etc. and should finally be with GTO max to max by Wednesday the 5th of April.

We have conducted a small trial of approx 20kms and are happy to say that there are zero vibrations form either the drive shafts, propellor or axles that we have fabricated ourselves. Will let GTO take over from here and keep this thread updated with his views on my job and post pics of the complete car.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi Guys,

Finally after a very long wait the jeep was finally delivered to GTO today which in my opinion is complete in all aspects pending a few cosmetic jobs as per his instructions. You can now look forward to him to give his comments/initial impressions on the job and report in due course of time.

I'm sure he will file a detailed report including pics at the various stages of work shortly.
