I use combination of Speed & Speed 97 with 75 % tank fill with Speed & rest 25% with Speed 97, This combination works great with my engine & i have standardized on this. I havent tried with HP or IOC cause they dont have 97oct fuel.

I tried most brands of petrol, I find shell super unleaded(Rs.51.90/litre) the best bet...The Shell brew gives a smooth ride and decent mileage, not too sure about power and rest!!!I would definitely vouch for extra premium after Shell.

the speed 97 is obvious choice because it is the only 97 octane fuel here.

Have never had a chance to use higher octane petrol since my HP pump doesnt carry anything besides unleaded and power.
Have voted for Turbojet as I had found better results from it than the effect power has given on my cars.

He said "No Thanks, it is free". This talks heaps about the professionalism\standards that have been cascaded down from the Shell Management and others oil companies have a long way to go when it comes to Customer Care.

I used to travel 7 kms one way to Yeshwantpur as well(way out of my normal driving routes), now luckily there is one within 2 kms from my home. I wouldn't do this if not for performance and mileage.

I believe in Power!

Havent found any difference by using 91 Octance petrol.

Want to try Shell but unfortunately they are all very far away.

I have used the normal unleaded petrol (IOC) and XtraPremium with my Santro -- and I think the mileage is poorer with the XtraPremium -- or so the software (RadiusFuel) on my iPaq tells me.

Any feedbacks?

Most of the people seems to judge the fuel in terms of FE, engine response (and may be the service from attendents!). What about long term effect on the engine (I mean adverse) ? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that high octane petrol may damage MPFI system or carburator in long run. Thought this is the right thread to make a debate on this and find out the truth...

this may sound stupid but i want to know whats 87 octane , 91 octane , 93 octane.
for example speed is say 87 octane and speed 97 is 97 octance.i just need some one to classify the above into their respective octane ratings.
