hi all,
i have a M800 and its having a strange problem...
when i want to turn on the AC...
sometimes it starts and most of the times it doesnot...
nothing happenes...
but after say 10 min i again try it opens and works for some time and again Dies...
not sure what had happened...

i Had gone to Maruti Service station..
they RIPED me and didnt do the work at all...
i dont even want to take the car there...

any idea what could be the issue...

They RIPED you???I didnt got it.

I think may be it is weakly connected to battery point. When you switch on the A/c it works fine for sometime but dies after sometime, it can be problem of loss of power too...I think you should get your 'Altenator' checked if Maruti guys didnt find any probs with your A/c...

WELL
i had taken the car for general service and they charged some 900/- parts and about 1650/- for service charges...
which i think is not normal...
they saw AP number and started Billing...
They kept the car for 3 days and didnt do the work at all...

regarding the AC..
what all should i check...
any place i can take it to have it checked...

What the HELL...So much for servicing an 800...Take your car there only where you had taken it earlier to that maruti srvice centre, why are you even thinking abt it...Why did you paid them so much if you didnt got anything out of it. Tell the guys that since you have already paid them so you wont pay them a cent more and that you want the car repaired.
They will definately repair it without charging you nething.
Comeon yaar when you pay someone you expect a fully working car in return atleast.

I wud have scared hell out those guys if i wud have been at your place...so go for it...

Very rightly said SSM. Zulfi... take the car to those buggers and show them all the bills and ask them to have the problem rectified. Tell them you are not picking it up until the problem is solved.

You can not charge a person any fancy amount by telling some stories. If you have charged the amount for a service it better be complete...

WELL
i am a person if i dont like some place i would not go there again even i am loosing some money...
i didnt like that service station...
i dont want to goo back there...
i need some place in bangalore where i can have my car checked...
i might be driving back to Hyd in it this weekend so have to get the AC repaired or i will be "Rosted Zulfikar"...lol

Zulfi... which service center did you take the car to..
Anyways there are a lot of people who do the A/C jobs.. there is one near jain Hospital Cunningham road. That guy is good.. take the car there.. sorry i have forgotten the name of the shop but he has worked on my corolla and he did a good job.

i had taken the car to the servicestation in Kormangalla near Lemon Grass...
any one near kormangalla/BTM will be easy...
well i have been living in Bangalore since 14 months and trust me i dont know where jain Hospital Cunningham road is... he he he...

ok.. then ummmm take the car to Mandovi motors in lavelle road.. thats the showroom.. They will be able to guide you to the correct person to solve the problem.
Also if you know where wilson garden (Near new BMTC bus stop--This you have to know) is then you can take the car directly to the service center(Mandovi).. ask for the mechanic Babu. He does my car.. explain the problem to him... he will take care of it..
Or PM me.. we can meet up this thursday and i will take you there.

ok will check it out...
in case any issue i will call you...
can you give me your contact no and your real name...lol

I have PM'ed you the details..

Does the A/c switch light... comes on when you switch it on?
If it does.... then... its most probably a bad (very bad).. thermostat (auto cuttoff).

If not then its another electrical problem.. with the switch or something.

Infact I have just (today) .. given my wagonR for service.. it has a thermostat problem.. (not as serious as your 800)...
I told them to check and call me up.. but don't touch anything.
When I told the guy in the morning... he was like "we'll check the gas"... I said "do you know what a therostat has to do with gas?"..... he didn't say anything thing again.
So much for the Maruti A.S.S!

what light are you talking about...
if you are talking about the light of the AC Switch it comes up the moent i open the Blower...

Yes. same light. But I guess you meant... the light comes on as soon as you open the Blower.. provided the a/c switch is on :).

If thats the case... Ac switch light is on... and compressor comes on and off. Then to me its an thermostat / auto cutoff issue or the blower switch (less probability)

This is only applicable if your ac is the company fitted stock ac.

I have a similar problem in my 800DX too... the AC comes on and off..
it starts cooling... and before its actually cold.. its off again.

EDIT: the thermostat thing can be a bit big on the pocket so solve.. in a Alto/Wagon it costs approx 2k. The cooling coil has to be removed & The gas needs to be refilled...

see........i have had 2 800's and both of them have given such problems and both times the problem has been pointed out to a faulty switch....90% of ppl dont use the switch too much ie keep it pressed so as soon as the blower is switched on the ac comes on.....i suggest when this happens you depress the switch and press it again to switch on and off.....get the switch checked at any reputed AC SERVICE CENTRE....not a maruti centre, the doinks there hardly know a thing about air conditioning....swift owners with climate control must watch out....so i suggest go to ppl who can point out your problem within minutes of switching the ac on
