Very professionally executed. If an aftermarket system gells so well, it wouldnt hurt Toyota to offer it as an option atleast.

The fitting is excellent and does not look like an after-market fitment. Is this unit from the Qualis GS-T model or is it specifically designed for an Innova?

Prabhusati, Hadn't you dropped a PM / Email requesting the pictures? Apologies for the long turnaround but the said Innova was not available for a while.

Dunno. But it looks alright in person too and has given zero issues in 3 years of heavy usage. Money well spent.

1) Sorry for bumping an old thread. Due to my studies, my father is considering not buying Innova & a drive in Baleno confirms that Baleno is worth for years to come. This is just for my information, I might need the info in future. But right now its just for my information.

2) After looking at the images, I found out that at one place in right B-pillar, the plastic panels are not fitted back properly.
Is that a source of noise on rough roads/high speeds ?

Is it impossible to fix the panel back properly due to some intrusion by the AC unit ?

You have quoted that the entire Ac unit was installed. Does this mean that another evaporator coil was installed in the roof ? To the best of my knowledge, the evaporator coil goes in the B pillar ( that is what Tavara salesman told us a few years ago ).

I am uploading the images of right side B-pillar plastic panel ( sorry if the word is wrong ).

Oops i caught this thread pretty late. anyway for the sake of info.

GTO!
30k is pretty expensive. and it has a cheap looking rotary switch

You remember I have posted on TBHP directory about a dude name Imran.
He does this install on regular basis. Some time three in a single day.

He did for some of my Travel operator friends innova, tavera and qualis. Its Rs.18k with labour. and they have digital controls, soft touch button with display.

@ aaggoswami
Ofcourse there is a cooling unit in there. Evaporator or cooling coil will not fit in B pillar. only gas pipe runs through it.
we have to recharge with gas.

It's been a while since I drove this Innova. Sorry, I cannot comment.

Should be easy.

Agreed. But the advantage is:

1. The warranty remained intact.

2. It's been over 4 years and my brother hasn't faced a single malfunction with the second blower. Believe me, it's VERY chilly for passengers at the back.

Since the thread seems a bit renewed and people asking queries, I thought I will chip in some info.

For those who want a rear A/C fitting or A/C works, I had gathered some info on the people doing such retro-fits in Mumbai. I am also looking for doing the same but have not decided yet with whom to do. In no particular order:

1. Ramu AC, Rs 20k (Sanden, Formula1)
Contact: Ramu, T 2822 1057
Shere-e-Punjab, Off Mahakali Caves Rd, Andheri
Said to have workshop full of cars for ac works. Checked out one of their Sanden fitting in Innova E. Was decent but with some gaps in the ceiling. Mostly advises Sanden fitting due to having local support.
Referred by a few as a bit costly but quality works.

2. Satyam AC, Rs 17k (Formula1)
Contact: Suresh Singh, M 9819532226, T 2837 3535 / 9292
Right on JVLR, somewhere in middle stretch towards Jogeshwari after MIDC fly over.
Has a small but nice workshop where the work is done. Haven't checked the fitting. Readily shared the contacts of the owners having done the job from here.

3. Oberoi AC, Rs 17k (Formula1)
Contact: Deepak, M 9819300556
Sion Koliwada, Car accessories shops line
Small shop and work is mostly done on road. Was told, the work will be done while you have a seat around in 5 hours flat, whereas others are saying 1-2 days of time.
Haven't checked the fitting. References/Contacts not shared.

4. Israr AC, Rs 20k (Sanden/Formula1)
Contact: Israr, M 9820296798
Waterfield Rd, Bandra (W), Off Linking Rd
Small shop and work mostly done on raod pavement.
He is said to do quality job. Ready to show example work, but I didnt have time to wait and check.

5. Giriraj AC, Rs 17k (Sanden)
Contact: Yogesh, T 25110601
M P Vaidya Marg, Ghatkopar (E)

In the above, do not confuse Formula 1 with any other reputed brand. It is some Taiwan/Chinese brand.

The one seen in these pics is I think Formula 1. Sanden is narrower.

If anybody comes across anyone doing these jobs and knows about their quality, costs and locations, pls share.

Also, I had a doubt if these retro-fits leak water inside the car or can there be condensed water dripping because of these? I had seen one such fitting dripping water.

There is a guy I found in Hyderabad who does this for the Innova, Qualis and Boleros. Name - Auto Chill. Location - Inside Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Basheerbagh.

The cost for fitting this fitment is 17K for all vehicels.
