I have to agree with Sankar and Sutripta have said. Since the EGT being displayed is projected EGT, it can be wrong also. If I were you, I would check what kind of AFR the car is running under different load conditions using a good wideband O2 sensor.

Also from what I found out about the G39 sensor is that it is a pre-heated sensor with it's own heating circuit. So it just may be able to detect EGT, but how accurate it is would be anybody's guess. So my recommendation now is to get a good wideband O2 sensor and see what kind of AFR the engine is running. This will also give you a very good indication about what kind if EGT the car may be running.
