Looks cool, but will it really have such a high power light which can replace halogen atleast if not xenons?

I'm not too sure if that was directed towards to me.
Umm..I'm not really looking at replacing my halogens/xenons with these I'm only making these my parking lights.
As for LEDs being able to outshine halogens/xenons, I cannot say much as my knowledge is still growing!
Someone who has a little more knowledge regarding the same would probably be able to elaborate.

It looks pretty cool, I look at one audi A4,and LEDs will be on in the morning. They seem to be bright, but I was wondering if they can be as bright to power a high beam.

Yea the Audo LEDs are pretty bright, I've seen up close and personal - friend of mine works for Audi. LEDs powering a high beam does seem feasible as LEDs for a high beam may be possible because the draw alot less power and take longer time to heat up. But I dont know if something like that exists or is being developed. Would sure require really powerful LEDs for that.

Yes I have. Quite a lot.

There are two advantages :

1) You can get parts you can't find in retail stores.
2) No customs hassles.

hi All, I have replaced the yellow lights of my Scorpio with white LEDs. The car looks awesome and is cool.
Very basic DIY, nevertheless wanted to post this information if any member finds it beneficial.
Procured: High bright white LEDs :50 nos
Resistors: 100 ohms 25 nos
Basic circuit boards: 10 nos, 5 of 2X2s 5 of 2X4s
one Soldron, flux & solder roll

The wiring diagram is attached. Connected 3 in series with the resistor at the +ve end and then connected all three of the negative and postive terminals for the right connections. Opened the roof light of Scorpio with a screw driver, took out the original yellow bulb and connected the positive and negative terminals(not without blowing a fuse). And Lo, the white pristine lights are awesome!. Did the same for the rear light too on the roof. The car feels and looks cool with white LEDs lighting!

Now I plan to do the same to the Scorpio's non functional tower lights. I plan to put in rows of the red LEDS, which shall glow up on braking!!

Individual costs of parts.
Why 50 LEDs and 25 resistors? Did you blow some while attaching. You have shown 9 (3x3)
How are the LEDs supplied? As an individual unit or strips of three?
Why the circuit boards?
Is it cheaper to buy in bulk?
What brand did you use of each?
Can you post pics of individual and assembled components?

If you do the scorpio tail lights then they will truly look like a christmas tree!!!

Did you use generic dotted PCB to assemble LEDs?

I did post similar DIY on this thread. The light is still working. I did make some more of them for my friends too. I used ceramic 5 Watt resistors (10 Ohms) to make it look neat and better heat dissipation with resistor.

How are the LEDs supplied? As an individual unit or strips of three?:getsurya: the LEDs are individual units only.
Why the circuit boards?:getsurya: the circuit board helps us to hold the lights together and has a uniform pattern for soldering. Also assists as a heat sink.
Is it cheaper to buy in bulk? :getsurya: yes, the more the merrier!from a cost perspective.
What brand did you use of each?:getsurya: sorry, did not bother to ask. I am sure LEDs are manufactured in India in millions by many companies.
Can you post pics of individual and assembled components?:getsurya: I shall do that.

Costs:
1. LEDs: each white LED is Rs 1.50 (9 X 1.50=13.50)
2.Resistors: each resistor is Rs.4.50(3 X 4.50=13.50)
3.Wire, Soldron, flux, solder etc can be costed as another 2.00 per LED(9 X 2.00=18.00)
4. Circuit board: a 2X2 board is Rs.10

TOTAL COST for this DIY=Rs.55!! Pleasure of seeing it working...Priceless!!!

@ Getsurya - Great job....Please post pics asap so we can see. In the meantime I'll ask some basic questions in 'our' mutual language!

Cost (Individual Parts and Total)
Time Taken (End to End as well just for the soldering/fixing)
Knowledge of Circuits (Level of knowledge required)
Warranties (Does this void any kind of warranty?)
Performance (How long do these last?)
Replacement (Any info on warranty on the LEDs)
Quality (Any specific brand of LED)

Hey shyam, this is what I have achieved so far,these are still in initial stages abut hope to get some good results soon [once I get time to work on this again] am uploading unfocused and focused designs.
This is a single 9 Watt setup that has worked at ambient temperature of 34-37 deg C and the LED temperature at 79.9 deg C, no AC and NO active cooling system.
The first two photos are of a 9 watt setup with any focusing of light beam, the next two are of the same setup with focusing lenses. the setup now uses around 12watts total with controller using around 1.7 watts and rest is dissipated as heat.
I am still working on improving the controller to control the temperature.
These are 3 watt rebel LEDs from luxeon. Natural light I have even tried the warm light LEDs.

Do you have a snap of the set-up with power off?
How did you fasten the LEDs on to heatsink? Thermal glue/epoxy are pretty expensive I suppose. Idea on any 'cost-effective' workaround for this would be great.

You seem to be doing lots of experiments on LED lighting, so should have already found some solution :).
