Too much torque steer! I remember even in my non-vtec OHC I had to fight the steering in first/second when I stomped on the pedal - oh what a feeling...

Dont take HONDA to its authorized service centre (Sundaram). They just do the easiest job, just replacing and charging you the maximum.

Honda is a great car to drive, but not one of the cheapest car to maintain as mentioned somewhere else. If you end up with any problem, the minimum repair cost would be in 10k and 20k

the only problem i am left with is that of the silencer now...
can someone please please help me with the silencer.... GTO.... i ve taken mine to the sundaram honda guys, but they say i need to get it replaced... and quoted 23k. I got it welded but as a friend of mine pointed out, it seems to be shaking a bit too much now when i am driving. what am i supposed to do.... vip3r had earlier mentioned a complete custom built exhaust. is that the best way to go?

We got some good guys in mumbai for the silencers. I balked at the 25k Honda quoted and got mine fixed outside (including rear SS free flow) for just 7k. Maybe some of the bangloreans will help you out.

I remember reading a thread here..which said maintaining a OHC V tec is cheaper than maintaining a maruti 800 in the long run.

I think GTO mentioned that somewhere.
That would be the case if you do not need to replace some part. The windshield washer spray nozzles costed me like Rs. 375.

As for silencer, go in for automech free flow. That should cost around 10 to 15K and is of high quality. Check up their website for more details.
