anyway can you point me to good tyre pressure gauges? i would love to have one.

The GTR footwear is designed for a totally different kind of performance, but i drive in hills and as well as in the plains, dont' seem to find a significant diff in the ride quality. The gauge i use is digital Accutire, i imported these 15 of them now left with 5 or 6 models.

When i filled in my car tyres with nitrogen i did feel a marginal difference in ride quality. May be it was just a placebo effect or may be my car was running in accurate tyre pressure. One good thing about filling nitrogen is you get it done with accurate values, where in it is unreliable in petrol bunks.

Not all bunks are unreliable. The ones with the new electronic gauges and auto cut off are pretty accurate. Even the old dial type gauges will be accurate but there is a factor of human error in them.

Case in point is HP Petrol pump at C.V. Raman Nagar bangalore , Once I got 47 in one of the tyre and 24 in other of my maruti and I detetcted it when I observed the car behaving funny.

i put in nitrogen in all my five tyres, costed me rs100/= with 3 months guarantee and free refills during that period.
this petrol pump had this nitrogen generation machine which produced 99.99% pure oxygen and this guy evacuated enitre normal air with the help of vaccum and then filled it with pure nitrogen. lets see how long it will last.

I had been wanting to know more about Nitrogen in tires.

I saw an ad for the first time while I was munching away at a Mac, Kalamboli, before Panvel, Navi Mumbai (the one just before joining Mumbai - Pune Expressway, ).

The only thought that comes to my mind is what are the effects of a rubber body that is pressurised and lower in temperature on the inside and hotter on the outside, given the fact that rubber is a bad conductor of heat.

I have been trying to get an answer for this on the net.

I used to put 30psi on compressed air also and put the same 30psi with Nitrogen as well .Possibly compressed air gauges were faulty

Nitrogen does NOT i mprove anything. So stop saying "OMG! I filled my tires with nitrogen and my braking and handling improved".

By filling up with nitrogen you're simply decreasing the pressure volatility of the air in your tires. It makes sense for HPDEs or any high performance driving situation but for the regular road car - clean dry air is the best. Just fill up on a dry day and you're fine.

I filled my tires with Nitrogen a few days ago.
They jack up the car then deflate your tires and then inflate them with nitrogen, right?
So they jack up the car and fill your tires with say 33 psi ( which is the right pressure when the car is on all four wheels) but when the car is taken off the jacks it increases to 35 or more depending on the weight of your car.
After ur tires are inflated and the car is taken off the jack, ask them to check the tire pressure again.
I had this problem. The ride comfort decreases alot, it will feel quite stiff.
Maybe thats why your'll feel acceleration has improved.
