Replacement battery for my Audi A3: Do specifications have to match exactly?

I dropped an email to customer care Audi, and they said that warranty may not be honored for electrical cases wherein the fault was caused due to battery.
They suggested that it would be better to have it installed from authorized center only.

I said that price difference is huge and hence the thought of after market came into picture. They have assured that they would do the best to support for the pricing as well. Hoping for the best

Audi - Price 22,000 & 2 year warranty
Non Audi - Price 12,000 & 1 year warranty
