Re: Hyundai Verna - Poor build / part quality

I own a Hyundai fluidic Verna diesel 2014 and had been quite economical to maintain.
It's done 80000kms, almost all city driven.

Besides basic servicing, parts changed till now
1. Ac cooling coil at 60000kms.
2. Brake pads rear at 76000kms. Front brake pads still as good as new.
3. Master slave clutch cylinder at 80000kms together with clutch (actually clutch still had some life left may be could have run another 20000/30000kms but I drive in city with lots of stop/start traffic and clutch had become a little hard.

Now it requires some suspension work. As per advisor, only bushes need to be changed

That's it

Even my last Hyundai accent petrol had almost no replacements till 93000kms.

So I guess these issues are driving style/ driving conditions related.

Re: Hyundai Verna - Poor build / part quality

I have a 3 year old 12k kms driven Grand i10 and it has following issues:
  • Hard clutch- HASS saying I will have to bear cost as it is wear and tear part. But wear at 12k kms!
  • Noise in steering column- HASS passing it off as minor.
  • Key fob lock/ unlock buttons have become too hard to press and requires multiple hard presses to operate- HASS said I will have to spend 7k for new key fob. Got new key made outside for 2.2k.
  • Metal grinding noise when lifting car in 1st gear- HASS refusing to even acknowledge the issue. Any idea what can be the issue?

My 11 year old 3rd gen City drives as good as day 1 with routine maintenance only. Yet I bought a new Creta with a hope that their premium bestseller will have better parts quality (would have bought HRV in a heartbeat had it been available).
