if the steering wheel vibrates and moves L to R and R to L only on a bad patch or a rough road it is indeed normal.
if you see a steering vibration on a smooth road get your tyres balanced.

Were you going too fast? Wheel alignment may be the problem.

If you were going fast and the steering started to viberate you should get your alignment check or if it occurs at low speed have it checked at the A.S.S

Steering moving left and right over rough roads indicates a worn/dislodged steering bush.

I think you meant wheel balancing and not the alignment. If the steering vibrates at high speeds then you need to go for wheel balancing. But, I suspect thats not the case . Steering moving to left and right is not an issue if you were going through a rough patch. check if the same thing is happening when you are moving on smooth road on cruising speed.

yae steering wheel was moving L-R& R-L on a ruff patch of road.... i think i was little fast might be in 30s....it is perfect on smooth/normal roads...however will get it checked at A-S-S.

Hi Guys,

I have a problem with my steering wheel of my indica vista. It starts vibrating very badly after a speed of 90. Everything is ok untill the speed of 90.

But the moment the speedo crosses 90 and touches 100 it starts vibrating in my hand very badly.

My car is very new and have done only about 2000 kms. As it was in run-in period I had never touched or crossed 90 before. But the first time that I did touch 100 today, it starting vibrating.

I am really concerned as it is new car. Could you guys please advise as to whether it needs wheel balancing or is it a problem with power steering.

Cheers,
Nitin

Get your wheels balanced. It would also help if you got the wheel bearings checked. Nothing to do with the steering per se.

check your suspension, take your wheelcaps off and see if you have any bends in your rims

The steering on my car vibrates, when i brake at high speeds(Read above 50). What could be the problem?

Should i get it checked at the service center or get the wheel balancing done?

Must be a brake pad problem. Get it checked at the service centre.

If its just vibration on rough roads, its normal. If it vibrates while high speed braking, then its most probably a brake pad or brake disc problem.

Thanks guys.

I will get the wheels balanced and hope that its a problem with the rims and no damage to the suspension or anything else.

Cheers,
Nitin

If your steering vibrates only when you brake, check your brake pads/liners/rotors. They might be deformed or worn unevenly.
