Doing this routine roughly once a week is good enough, and is keeping my cars and batteries in decent shape so far.
Looks like I spoke too soon in my previous reply quoted above.

I did not have a dead battery in the lockdown, but ironically, I had one after the lockdown.

During the lockdown, I used to religiously start both the cars at least once a week. However, once the lockdown was over, I started driving around in the BMW and then totally forgot about starting the SX4.

In fact, the SX4 was due for a service, and the Maruti service center promptly called me to remind me, and I promptly scheduled a service appointment. What I totally forgot was that the car was not started for almost 3 weeks prior to the service appointment. And then, I can not say this was unexpected, but the car refused to start on the morning of the service appointment. It is totally ironic (and stupid of me) that the routine which I religiously followed during the lockdown was forgotten due to my carelessness after the lockdown. Maybe regularly driving the other car diverted my attention away from SX4.

However, thankfully, here is where Maruti service shines! They promptly sent someone with a spare battery and jump starting kit and they jump started my car within 30 minutes! They jump started the car and then drove it away for service.

My SX4 getting jump started by Maruti service center personnel, after a three week hiatus:

They started the car and did a full service, and everything is fine now. And here is the nicest part: they did not even charge me for this. They were prompt, polite, punctual, professional, did the job well, and did not charge me too. One more example of why Maruti is the king of customer service in Indian automobile scene!
