Re: Why would the brake pad of one side (left) wear out faster than the other (right)?

I might sound like a broken record, but will add one more point, actually two

1. Caliper grease is a special grease which is designed to tolerate and retain the lubricating properties at the high temperatures the brakes operate at. Most local workshops just use normal grease from a tub that they use for all other purposes. This is a big NO! This grease will dry out within a few weeks of driving and start jamming the caliper pins. Use only dedicated caliper pin grease. The one by Maruti is availble in small sachets and one of them can cover one side caliper easily.

2. Try not to mix two different types of caliper grease. If you are not able to find the same time you used last time, ensure the old grease is removed from the pins as well as the guide holes before you apply the new grease.

I see even wear on the pads. Stuck slider pins will give uneven wear. Your pins are fine. Dont fix if not broken.

The slider pins may not be stuck as you said. But they are not completely free moving either. Somewhere on the way to get stuck.

Regarding wear sensor, I observe most cars have these on the inside pads, ie, the pad coming in contact with caliper piston. On few Honda cars, only one pair of pads have the wear sensor. This is bad design

I have a Honda city too

I am 100% sure OP is confused with pads. They are not left pair and right pair. They are inner/outer.

Each side of the car has 2 pads, inner and outer.
One of the pairs(either inner or outer) always has more wear. I forgot which. But it’s never the same amount of wear.

I’ve observed this in my car. I always want to interchange the inner and outer pairs when one wears out. But just ended up swapping them just to be safe

The inner pads will show more wear as this is the one thT activates the floating calipers. This inner pad works harder than the outer pads.
If the calipers are fixed with pistons on both sides the wear should be equal for bothe the inner and outer pads.

Re: Why would the brake pad of one side (left) wear out faster than the other (right)?

well, I must ask you who said that those pads need to be replaced. There is still a reasonable amount of life left in them. I've worked on marutis as a part of my internship and the mechanics would themselves deny changing pads with that much left. Yeah, but coming to your point of uneven wear, the calliper pins might be the obvious culprit, but do not discount the toe of your front wheels, especially for a FWD.
