Baleno Went off....

Hi Guys
Need urgent help..

I started my baleno just now and after moving few meters on the reverse just went off,

All the electricals are dead
Only thing functioning is the blower and the wiper,
all lights andf the horn do not funtions

The security just beeps but the lock and unlock funtion makes noise but does not physically actuates the buttons

my guess is some fuse must have blown but which one??

I tried opening the fuse box under the bonnet, but was not able to identify how to resognise a blown fuse,

The fuses under the steering are ok as i can see the fuse wire connected

ANy help is much appreciated

Does your car have an engine immobilizer? Actually you say you started the car and it went off. Meaning the immobilizer wasn't active when you cranked her. The fuse box is on the right hand side near the battery. On the box you have the designation of all the switches to help your cause. If not there is a box with spare fuses on the drivers side under the dash. You will have to really search for this one with your eyes wide open.

I suggest you call the company guys and have it rectified at the earliest.

If you're not able to rectify a blown fuse yourselves, then I would not recommend you to further do anything to the car.
It is better you call 24hours helpline for immediate assistance.

I think iam in for the same shock then...or maybe something like this..Fuse box fuses are mixed up by mechs...Press the brake and all lights incl parkin and all come on...turn car off but if leg still on break pedal, car wont go off...Rear Brake lights glow bright as if break pedal is pressed but it isnt...
Got an appointment with Ford on Wednesday...lets hope they can solve it.

Update

Guys,
The maruti guys checked my car,
But could not figure out the problem , can you beat that,

It looked like I was more knowledgeble than the morons who were trying to fish in the dark, they even insisted that the fuel pump is not working and hence the car is not starting.

But I was adamant with my points why the cars lights and horns are not working.

Only then did they agree tocheck all the fuses and everything was in order, on a hunch they tried to shunt a fuse with a piece of wire, when I told them that the manual mentions that this could be hazardous they started laughing and saying if we go as by the manual than half the cars would not run. So far for the professional help.

Well here it is in a nutshell, what next??

My Observations,
Baleno seems to have secondary circuits and my problem has orginated in circuit which connects all lights, Horn and the ECM, there seems to be some problem in this circuit cannot figure out how can I isolate the problem

Will the guru's here try to help me !!!!

Did you try jump starting the car using a different battery?

Can you be a bit more specific on what works and what not.
Earlier only blower and wipers were working, now power windows are working.
To me it seems as a electrical failure wherein some relay has gone kaput.

check all the fuse, the ones inside the engine bay seems to be the culprit.

would be helpful if you can give moer details of the problem..

are the telltale lights working when you switch on the ignition? if they are normal do a simple check on battery, switch on the head lights and crank, if the headlights go off and no crank its a weak/dead battery cell.

best advice i can give with whatever info you have given is take it to a competent dealer/workshop

I think you got to see your trusted mechanic at the earliest than wasting time here.

I just can't believe Maruti guys couldn't sort the problem out.
Seems like Hyderabad is a bad place to get stuck with a car.

If all fuses are ok, have your alernator belt and alternator checked.
