Kad-kad-kad noise from the rear wheel

My 10k run Polo (MPI Comfortline) has suddenly started making kad-kad-kad noise from rear right wheel. It is noticeable when stereo is off. It sounds like something is stuck in the wheel. The noise gets louder as speed increases, not very loud but you can notice it if stereo is off. I did not go through any major potholes, only regular ones. The noise comes from rear on driver's side.

I am thinking of getting it checked out at VW Gurgaon workshop. But wanted to get expert opinion here first about what could be the issue.

Possibly the brake pad is misaligned or some foreign matter has entered the brake drum. I dont think for a low run car like yours there should be a bearing issue.

There is a stone stuck in your tyre thread which is making the noise as the speed increased the wheel rotation becomes faster making the noise appear more quicker.
Check the tyre once.

Checked both tyre treads for stone. I did not find anything just the usual very small stones. Today I was listening to the sound more carefully while driving and it sounded metallic.

Some times small pebble may get between the tyre and brakes. Please get your car to a tyre shop to remove and inspect.

Re: Kad-kad-kad noise from the rear wheel

There could be loose silencer assembly; stones lodged in tyres on the run may be hitting the wheel arc, this happens on newly laid roads a lot.
The mud flap may be hitting the tyre randomly.

Check for any tyre budge. I had similar issue with my ameo. Another chance is wheel bearing or suspension issue

Perhaps try checking to see if there's an issue with the brake disks or caliper pins

Suddenly the sound has stopped. I don’t know how, I had scheduled a workshop visit but cancelled it because sound is not coming now.

Noise reappeared or I just got used to the noise and stopped noticing. I got it checked at vw workshop and they said it is a wheel bearing issue.
