This must be a new design, looks good. I'm not sure who their supplier is these days, but they had tie-up with Enkei once upon a time. With manufacturer-approved wheels, you can be assured on the quality and compatibility front. So this option is worth considering if you can get in 20-22k range.

You can check out used wheels from the 13" OEM Maruti Stable. They used to have some really good designs! Being another Alto user ( K10 Gen 1), I must mention that the wheel well of your generation Alto is not very accommodating in instances of putting in alloys or going for wider rubbers. If you want to keep practicality in check, stay away from wheels having negative offset. :coldsweat

Can I know where you were able to source the defogger switch from? I managed to source the glass, but have no idea about the switch and wiring.

I ordered the switch from boodmo:

Better let it get delivered, I will confirm if this is compatible.

I have seen one alto with such a wheel and it looks smashing. I have started admiring cars with oem or wheels from within the brand - they look terrific. Please also check out other 14 inch options from MSIL -accessories or otherwise.

Please tell me there is an extra zero there. I had my pillar wrapped recently and it cost me just 300.

:disappointed Have to say it's not an extra but a "billed" zero.

Any luck with the Defogger Switch? I too have ordered on Boodmo. But delivery dates keep changing and is currently March 1st. I am pretty sure I won't get it then too.

Anyway have finished the work on my 2004 model. The wiring work for the defogger, rear wash wipe are pending. Planning to get it done when I can get my hands on the defogger switch. As I also went for the Estilo combination switch, I will be installing the front fog lamps too once I get good ones. Have changed the colour from Pearl Silver to Silky Silver, new floor carpet and 3 D Mats, the interior panels have the cladding from the Alto K10 and Vxi for the past couple of years along with four door power windows and central locking. I had retrofitted Power Steering around a year back. Otherwise the car is stock. Not even a stereo.

Damn, day before yesterday they canceled my complete order (I also had ordered parcel tray, spare wheel cover).

The work looks legit clean, just a question what do you mean by interior panel cladding?

Can you share wiring diagram for defogger? I am planning to get some other switch or just put same hazard switch and slap a defogger sticker on it of possible.

As a matter of fact I finished fitting rear room lamp (I think this part is of swift) , I 3D printed some parts to fit properly.

Interior Cladding - the inner panels above the window line on the A, B and C pillars were bare metal. It was covered with the interior trim from 1st Gen Alto K10 and Alto Vxi 1.1.

Mine being a pre facelift model already had the interior trim on the lower part in plastic in all areas including the boot unlike the later models which had cheap carpet like material.

As for the defogger, I don't have any wiring diagram. I will be leaving it to a mechanic / electrician at my FNG who did a good job on a couple of other electrical jobs. The Defogger switch is the issue. Will the Hazzard Light switch be ok? Cos once switched on, it remains in the on position till it's switched off again unlike a dedicated defogger switch which returns to off position with the switching off of the defogger being done by the controller.

The type conversion looks lit, Car looks clean.

Aha, and about rear defogger Did you mean we have seperate controller or its just relay?
If controller is within the switch I will try to find a way to embed the logic in Hazard switch I already have. As for its mechanism of staying in “on” position, you can take out Its cover and disable that mechanism, I did that already with my spare black Hazard switch (BS3 came with red Hazard switch).

I will check and update back everything, meanwhile please let me know all electrical/electronic components in between. If nothing makes sense I will just program Arduino Uno/Nano or ESP32 and hook up all IO pins since I am planning to add logic like electrically actuated tailgate release (pretty simple setup for actuator) so that when you sing your foot under bumper it opens up just like (some) VW cars.

Once done I will share all source code and parts.

Recently hit down to this thread accidentally. I'm glad that someone else on this planet are still interested and curious to rebuild their old machines.
I'm also restoring my 2010 Alto LX. Already converted the machine to LXI at my own home garage. lol:
Will be sharing the photographs soon.
As of now just wanted to know from where did you sourced the rear windshield with defogger on it. And which rear wiper arm are you using ?

I sourced the glass through the MGP Store in my city. It was OEM for the Xcite Limited Edition and also export models. But my FNG said it can also be sourced directly from the manufacturer ASAI.

The wiper arm is one I bought off flipkart for around Rs. 300/-. The wiper motor is MGP - from the Alto Vxi 1.1

I too had done the Lx to Lxi conversion last year as the car is primarily used by my wife and she was finding it tough to use it without power assist.

Thanks for your prompt response. I have tried it at multiple MGP store here in my city Chandigarh but no luck. Tried with other vendors too they could not get anything positive response. Can you check with your supplier in your city and can ship me. It would be a great help. I don't think it have cost you not more than 2k.
