Thanks for your prompt response. I have tried it at multiple MGP store here in my city Chandigarh but no luck. Tried with other vendors too they could not get anything positive response. Can you check with your supplier in your city and can ship me. It would be a great help. I don't think it have cost you not more than 2k. |
I shall check if it can be done. And yes the cost was below 2k

Hurry up I am not sure if they will go completely out of stock, it would be pain again to search.
Guess Boodmo has one distributor having a stock of 1 but delivery charges would be high.
Also I got rear defogger controller from Estilo, its now only question of pin diagrams for which I need to reverse engineer. I will post another DIY thread for wiring.
I have also ordered i20’s roof lamp that can be used to also keep glasses, and some more fun stuff and fix them with 3D printed materials (will also be available in separate post).
Guys, I also need help on my alloys, I am unable to source locally, So I am planning to buy online from alloywheelsIndia
https://www.alloywheelsindia.com/pro...100/wonder.htm
Can someone please look into the shared link and see of Alto wheel wells can accommodate?
its 5j with ET offset of 29, 13 inch.
Team,
I finally called Neowheels and got a beautiful 12 inchers of 4.5j as I did not want any risks with body scraping and Neowheels also told me they won’t provide warranty on upsizing. She gave me this new design in Candy Black Machined.
Here is the picture:
Now the questions arises. Can I fit same tires I currently have on my steel rims, they are fairly new. They are also 12 inch.

Strange. Upsize in terms of what? Wheel dia or width? If it's the latter, the 4.5J design recommended to you will also count as an upsize as Alto's stock rims are 4J. This seems more like a clever (and unethical) sales technique than anything else.

Yes, 4.5J would be slightly wide for a 145 section tyre but it will fit. You can consider upgrading to 155 section during the next tyre change.
In your case I strongly feel OE wheels will be a better choice. They generally have narrow width as compared to aftermarket designs, plus offset and bore size will also be close to stock values. You have a freshly painted car, and the last thing you'd want to do is hammering the wheel wells from the inside to make space for aftermarket wheels. MGA has a very nice machined finish design in 13 inch, you can consider it if the width is 4 or 4.5J. This information will be mentioned on the back side of the wheel.

Let me check with them, they actually asked model pics and suggested 13 would not be ok.

Have already paid alot for delivery charges on Boodmo. I remember I ordered an product costing me 1 rupees and 120 rupees was the delivery charges. rl:
Anyways I was still looking the same on Boodmo but couldn't find that 1 particular windshield you referred. I was able to get the same defogger switch, will figure out the wiring by myself. But the big question is about how to procure rear windshield.
Meanwhile I have installed 14 inch OEM rims from Swift and snow tires from Japan 165/65/14. As I'm not much into alloys and stuff because most of the usage will be on hilly areas especially on snow. ;)
Moreover I have seen the video of your Alto on Brotomotive.

I tried through the MGP dealer from whom I sourced my glass. But he says it's not available now...

Good luck with the defogger setup, will be waiting for your successful post on the same. Kindly share the wiring diagram of any. I suppose it would be an easy setup.
Moreover, yes I'm on 14 inch on Alto without any modifications, runs perfectly and attached are couple of images for the same.
Additionally looking forward to have the wiring setup for rear wiper wiring if anyone have. Mine is installed with wiper and washer working all together. Wanted to have working separately.

I'm a bit curious about this. How you managed to have door ajar warning and lamp on instrument cluster?
I would like to do the same on my Alto 2011 model.
Moreover I'm working on to restore my 1998 Mahindra Marshal, entire OEM wiring got fried some how and now I have managed to rewire it all by my own as most of the technician refused to do so as new wiring are not available anywhere.
Keeping this thread till Alto only. :) looking forward to have your efforts on the above system.

For door ajar warning,
Here you go:
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-d...zuki-alto.html
Talking about rewiring, please take care that yiu will use right guage and good couplers, have a crimping tool as well!! Atleast this is how I design my own wiring harness haha.
About Alto rear wiper I will post pic by tomorrow, containing wiring diagram.
Just to let all fellow BHPians know, here is my boy with his new alloys (and tyres):
Note that I redesigned my own center hub caps with Suzuki Monogram, I will soon try to make them dynamic hub caps.

I appreciate your efforts sharing the detailed thread over ajar warning wiring details.
Moreover I also prefer doing coupler and crimp wiring attachments. Most of the wiring I do it by myself, as local mechanic always avoid doing the work as per my requirements and taste.
I used the rear wiper arm from Wagon R the latest version. But I don't liked the looks of modern technology. So I removed that and installed the old Zen metal wiper arm which was a real pain to find one, so restored it from a nearby junkyard. It looks something raw and old school as per my preference. Here are few pictures of the same.
Adding an update on this got the rear windshield glass from Boodmo but they are charging 1500 rupees as delivery which is more than the price of product itself, my got insane monopoly it is.
Nevertheless your alloys to the vehicle looking pretty much awesome and your custom made centre hub is really innovative idea and worth appreciating.
Just an updated pictures of my vehicle. :coldsweat

Just confirmed and upsizing in terms of diameter is not encouraged it seems. Other than that I felt skeptical as I did not want to scrape so went with same. Also the old tyers two of them had small bumps and caused car to wobble during slow drives, so changed all of them to 165/60 R12, ground clearance is now less but overall handling is improved, less wheel spin too!
Vivek so sorry for making you wait for wiring diagrams, fact is I forgot how I have connected the wires on motor so need to open tailgate interior cover and check. I will try this Friday.
