Both I and Robin being perfectionists and suffering from severe OCD, the front headlights are being further detailed. I haven't shot any pictures yet. Will be doing detailed report soon. Will take the car back tomorrow.

Classy touches at Grid7! If not for them, I wouldn't have touched any of the light assemblies! The headlights had to be opened up, and the parts excluding the reflector were finished in Matt black. See the Yeti detailing!







The outer border too is finished in glossy black and the quality Glasurit clear-coat is applied for the blending. You do not feel anything if you touch those areas!

Wow! The colour is truly magnificent. Especially on an older gen Skoda. Wish we had more bright colours on older cars. Though the Laura RS looked fab in Race Blue and Yellow, sad we missed out on the Rallye Green.

Here’s a Skoda Octavia RS (TDI) spotted by a friend over the in UK. These older gen Skoda sport the green quite neatly.

Agree. There is one Jetta with Grid7 which looks very yummy in something close to British Racing Green!

Not a big fan of your colour but your mods and obvious dedication to them is superlative.

Forgot to post that there have also been other minute detailing done which have made the interior blending in well with the exterior colour.
1. Double stitched in Green laminations on the floor mats and also the boot mat.
2. The double stitches on the seats are all now green
3. The soft shoulder pads on the seat belts are also Green colourd!

With the seats, interior/floor being all bkack, these touches make the interior very sporty. Sharing the available pictures for now.

Ex Skoda Yeti (4x4) owner here (Hell, how much I miss her every day of my life) My current car is greener than your beloved Yeti (it’s an EV), but I each time I see a Yeti (now rarer than ever), what do I tell you. You know, how you feel when you see that ex you loved like mad.

The relationship with my Yeti was that tempestuous too. She’d make me cry when she left the workshop. The bills killed me each time (one of the few reasons I gave her away) She was an urban drinker (was responsible on the highways though) And she was one drama queen (2 lakhs + km brought her into early menopause) & had to see the mechanic every few months. Her demands weren’t easily met with (Yeti = rare. Yeti spares = even more so) But she knew what it did to my ego taking her out. She’d never let me down when I showed her off to friends. Sometimes I felt she thinks she was over my league.

I’d often decide I’m done with her. And then go online, pick up a shiny new thing from the showroom and take her out on a date, I mean, drive. Soon I’d realise, I’m being stupid to let go off a gem. They’d just not match up to the Yeti, though a good ten years their senior. Half way through the drive I’d know I have everything I need and look for excuses to drop the wannabe back.

But when we were on the road, I mean, just the two of us, no kids & family, that’s when she’d blow my mind away. The way she’d push me to be hard on her & the way she handled herself and me, man, mad passion. No matter what surface I’d ride her on, she would not move an inch out of the periphery, all the while keeping me cocooned, engrossed & engaged. That she had a manual transmission made the whole affair so tactile. She’d reward me with every right push to the knob. I must admit though, she had a grunt, rather than a purr, but hell, she was just on old school girl. Often times at the end of the journey, I’d just be sitting there, quietly panting with excitement, looking at her with utmost motor-lust. Alas, she’s not with me anymore.

Those were the days when Skoda made non-conformist designs on their cars. Be it the earlier Octavia or Superb, they had an aura that was esoteric. These days they look like, well, cars. They look like they are trying hard to fit in.

M35, I hate you for having dragged back those memories, but I love how much you’ve loved your Yeti. Unlike me, you didn’t break up (and why would you)

By the way, though I was born and raised in MH03, I have roots in KL08. Maybe someday I get a chance to appreciate your Greenie in real. Just don’t catch me ogling at her. She’s beautiful. An applause to your efforts.

As a Yeti owner I am fascinated by your makeover of your Yeti. May I ask a question, while I keep spending money each year on various repairs and replacements I am now faced with an unknown factor. The ABS light has come on and the FNG says the ANS module needs replacement. How can I confirm this? Maye it is just a sensor?
Mine is a 2010 model with about 1,25,000 km.

A simple scan will reveal if it's due to any faulty ABS sensors, which I am sure your workshop has done. Even after deleting the errors, you still get the ABS warning along with traction control and power steering warning, there is a chance that it's your ABS module. I would suggest two things:

• Get it checked by another workshop without telling them anything. I would take the car to the reputed Skoda ASC
• If they too confirm that it is a faulty ABS sensor, try source one from abroad or from a used market. I sourced an ABS module for Rs 40k while the Skoda India would charge you around Rs.1.45L or so. You can ask your FNG or any Geramn car specialist in your area to source one from abroad.
