For Swift [post #1], there isn't a scale on either axis!
Would you please post the graph of Alto 800 CC ?

okay in other mags which i dont have on me now:- i have seen "top speed 160 ' for the petrol swift always laughed : put it down to the mag s poor quality research or something but yeah man

go figure

check out the figure in top gear all me friends who have access to them are individually canned right now

cy

ps
i hit 180 on the expressway when my car had 900 km on the odo - with my girlfriend in the car
no mods
only tires
no redlines
although did it in 4 gears i think
super smooth
+ only 8.4 ish kmph speedo error
8.4 is alot of speedo error. your tyres are smaller because 195/60 is smaller than the recommended 195/65 for the swift. hence the speedo error.

the swift speedo reads ideally perfect at 185/70 r 14
thats what maruti told me many times

195/65 is what people recommend and the speedo is not tuned for that you will get slight speedo error with this size

with 195/60 r 14 i get a 4.4 kmph diff at 100 kmph
so if my speedo showed 182-3 i was doing 172 ish

are you trying to tell me the swift only goes till 160?

peace

Cy - did i ever say that the swift did only 160? i did NOT. all i said was that your car would be showing you a higher speed than you actually did because of the smaller tyres. you could have been doing 170 and your speedo would have showed 177 or so.

infact i dont believe half of the top speeds mags give. they probably dont test them and just predict the figures.

195/65-14 seems to be a good up size with less than 1% error compared to stock 185/70-14. 195/65-14 seems to be giving more speedo error like -4%. Reference

Tire size calculator

There is no real point of disagreement here.

Read the second tire profile to be 195/60-14, typo.
