K&N Typhoon engine sound query

Hi guys, I had fitted my car, Cedia Sport 2007 with a K&N Typhoon air filter, at 9000KMs. I got the car serviced at 10000 as per mitsubishi standards. Once i got it serviced, the surging bass noise made by the filter kinda reduced though o probs wid the cars smoothness or pick up...I am not much of an attention grabber through sound made by the vehicle either, but i some how used to like the engine sound made by this filter. Is it possible to restore the previous engine sound???

Once it is cleaned you will get the same old bass noise.Mr.Anish can do it for you.Next time when you go for service tell them avoid spraying water on the filter.

K&N filters are said t be cleaned only after bout 20000 kms or so.I got my universal air filter cleaned after 7000kms as it was looking dirty from outside but the service guy oppened it and showed to me .It was as good as a new one from inside.he says its required to be cleaned only whe the inside to becomes as bad as outside. And always make sure to tell the service guy to cover the filter with a plastic while washing the engine.I had got my filter messed up once.

Cheers

Yeah right NSF, i came to know that it must be covered while washing. Also, mustn't forget to take off the plastic!! My friend forgot that he had covered the filter and started the engine, he damaged it fully.

shouldn't the engine have choked or stalled in a shortwhile? what kind of damage was done to your friend's car's engine?

He started the car and quickly realised the fact that he didnt remove the cover because of the sudden noise change. No engine damage but the filter became disfigured, unusable.
