I am thinking of getting a cng kit fitted in my Wagon R. I am getting a good deal for the BRC kit that is being fitted by Maruti in Alto.Although i dont know what are the kit specs and how good it is.
All i know is that it would be the same as oem fitment for alto.
What do u say ? Is it better than Landy or Lovato , or equivalent.

Not very sure about CNG kits, but atleast when it comes to LPG kits, BRC is way better than lovato, though it is much costlier as well.

A friend of mine has a xeta with the BRC kit on it and needless to say that the car dosen't start on a cold start. He has been taking the car to the dealer and the dealer says that there are errors being created in the ECM which is why the car dosen't start on a cold start. He got the ECM re-set and the car starts again and has no problem for about 4-5 days and again back to square one.Now this is what i have seen in two indica xeta's. The first one my friend lost his patience and sold the car and went for a Dzire with a CNG kit fitted by the dealer which ensures the warrenty also. I had posted these problems but didn't get any response to them.

Re: BRC MPFI CNG Kit?

Friends,
I have an EECO 5 seater with AC. I plan to install a SEQUENTIAL CNG KIT in it.
Am confused between BRC and LOVATO.
Kindly suggest a better choice between the 2 and oblige.
Regards,
Dr.Abhay Shah.

Re: BRC MPFI CNG Kit?

Well i dont see any activity on this thread for long time. Hope i will get a revert.

I have sparck and planning to get CNG kit installed.

Got offer of BRC kit for 32500 (Closed Loop) and 52500 (Sequencial) inclusive RTO work.
Also expcted milege 25/KG !

So query is

1. Shall i opt for BRC? How good it is ? Heard it is OEM for Maruti/Tata/Chevy?
2. Closed loop is in my budget but sequential to seems to be advanced but expensive. Is 20000 extra worth for it?
3. How CNG will impact my engine? I know warrenty will go for toss...

Any other points i have missed out on .

Re: BRC MPFI CNG Kit?

Idea,

1. The price of closed loop and sequential is at par with professional installations in Mumbai.
2. BRC is one of the top recommended kits and i am currently using a BRC closed loop kit.
3. After hours of reading hundreads of reviews , i can to the understanding that cng does no harm to a engine, but it is recommended to run the car everyday in petrol while heating up (about 1.5 to 2 km). i am following this as a principle. Monthly pertol comsumption is about 500rs.

FE - 50% AC
heavy traffic in andheri (8km takes 1hr) - 17km/kg
light traffic - 10pm -19km/kg
highway - 24km/kg

its a good investment.

A few questions..

Which car is the kit fit into?
Where did you fit this kit from and at what cost?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I hope its a one off case, for my sake alteast.
I got mine fitted from Greenglobe, coz they do OEM installs (dealer warranty) for new Maruti SX4 and Eeco etc.

Other than tuning issues, was there any engine damage during the time you used Cng?
