Going to take car tommorow to MASS and ask them to do as you guys suggested.I also noticed that the jerks are now uneven meaning, sometimes they are there and sometimes they are'nt. Could it point to that things are getting back to normal ? Just not sure so hitting out in all directions !

get the throttle body cleaned

visited my mechanic today. and got the throttle body cleaned and the ecm resetted, had a test drive for about 5km . was better than before.
though i had got the throttle body cleaned there was lot of carbon deposits, the mechanic suspected of poor quality petrol and excess dirt from the knN filter. he adviced me to change to a stock filter!! hope this solves the problem for now.. thank you all

I think it can be the spark plugs, but not always. Clogged fuel injectors can also give you the same problem. I remember driving one of my relatives Astra 1.6 with an unclean injector, the car was misfiring and jerking at around 2000RPM. I guess cleaning the injectors would help you solve the issue mate.

Average for the past 1000 KM ever since this ordeal is 13.5 KM (City driving with 1/2 of the time AC ON) but jerks are still there . This makes me wonder...what could it be ?

That's a good FE.
I still think it's water in your plug cables or somewhere along the ignition system. Cab you not reproduce it when the MASS are in the car?

solution finally !

MASS finally put 2 new coils alongwith the previously replaced cable and the problem is resolved ! They wanted to try out to detect which of the 2 was at fault but not taking any chances, i got both replaced. Lucas-TVS ones costed 1400 a piece. Thanks to all of you who responded on this thread to help ! cheers:

I thought you'd already changed your ignition coils! That was the first suspect..
