dear all,

another query.Below is how i park my car.



As you can see i am one of those few lucky fellows who get to see their car right next to the window:D.The problem is i have to get in from the other side and hop over to the drivers seat from the passenger side everyday because there is no enough space for the neighbour's car to pass through if i were to park away from my grill.

The question is , in case my car's battery or remote's battery were to die, how would i unlock the car,bonnect etc as there is no key slot on the passenger side to manually open the door in case the remoter/battery fails ?

Well even if you lock your car with remote, and in case remote fails you can always one the car with the remote key or spare key she will get unlocked and will start without any issues.

CRV pads cannot be used on civic for the front, but for the rear Yes they can be used.
Front pads of crv are bigger than civic hence cant be fitted.

@sumeethldankar: why don't you just park your car in the reverse direction?

Jatin the pads are for the rear only.Well i am ok with opening the car with the spare key but the thing is i may not have enough space to open the door as the drivers door is close to the grill.

It crossed my mind but it is already a pain to park the car way it is now as i have to maneuver the car at a angle through the gate aviod a parked swift and the grills etc.It will be a major pain to park it in reverse order.

I guess the only way to prevent issues is to get a backp battery for the remote and to make sure the car's battery is in good condition by doing periodic checkups.

I wanted to know from anyone who had the experience of a drained civic battery,did the battery had enough juice to atleast open the doors ?

I'm pretty sure the battery will have enough juice to open the doors - I have that experience in my old Optra.

Why does your window grill extend 30 cms from the wall? Does it hold an AC unit for your house? Get rid of the grill and replace it will a normal one that hugs the wall of your house.

I guess that grillle was designed to hold a few flower pots ; couldn't see any,though.

To open the door manually in case the remote does not work,open the window,get onto the grille and open the driver door using the key OR become a doggie,crawl under the grille and open the door,but mind your head

Far too many plastics below the front bumper! That is my big complaint about my civic now. In my last trip, some plastic piece thing went loose in front on the left tyre and started dragging in the road. I somehow managed to push it back up. On inspecting the bottom of the bumper, I was shocked to see loads of plastic bits and pieces loosely screwed together, again with plastic screws! I wonder how all this will sustain our rough roads.

Sir, all cars these days have the same treatment. The plastic that you said was dragging must have been the fender lining. If you look under the bumper, you will find the under engine shield (plastic) and fender lining, put together with plastic locks and screws. The plastic locks fail like anything and its best to replace them with plastic screws. Its the same with corolla, cedia, swift and many others.. The best fender lining screws I have seen so far this side of laura are those in Polo, they wont come off untill they take a hit.. If you find that plastic locks installed in your car are failing, get some good quality plastic screws and ask any mechanic/painter to change them. You will do fine.. Please avoid metal screws, they will rip the shield and lining in some time and you will need to replace them.

I too faced the same issue, most of the clips were missing, I enquired for these plastic clips from Honda (Whitefield, Dakshin, Magnum) nobody had them in stock. They said stock will come in another week to 10 days and they quoted each will cost 100Rs +.
Went to FAST CARS(an individual garage) here, enquired for the same. I got almost similar plastic clips for 8Rs each. Fitted them and no Issues faced whatsoever now.

They are plastic for an important reason: safety for pedestrians if we happen to hit them.

Does anybody knows about availability/price of Civic's original "Hydraulic Mounting" outside HASS ?

As you stay close to New Delhi, Please check for shops at Kashmere gate (Spare-Mart).
They usually have OEM Honda parts.
Else contact Gaurav, he knows most of the shops over there.

Called up Spare-Mart, it is available there but at a price of Rs.6,800/-. Not worth it IMO. Price different is not much in comparison with HASS.

Gaurav has already shared his Karol Bagh contacts with me. :)

Will check with those also and update this thread.

Hi Sir, Rohit (ACE_F355) got hydraulic mount for his car from spare mart for some 4-4.5K. The part company's name was EVO. Please call spare mart again and refer to this.. I havent called them again though after the acelerator cable i needed for my cedia, the guy actually asked me to sell my car, when he got to know that its cedia..:D.

Also, please avoid non hydraulic mounts, available for around 2k or something.. I lately saw a car with non hydraulic mount and the vibration from engine to the chassis was too high..

OT: I think its not a bad business idea to import some 1000 pieces of hydraulic mounts and sell it, considering it fails every 30-40k kms.. I mean half of them will be sold at team bhp itself.. lolzzz

Thanks for the suggestion Gaurav, I will surely go for Hydraulic Mount only. The symptoms have just now started. Nobody else can notice this as of now but having replaced it twice before, I know what that very minor sound is all about. :)

Just for records, I replaced 1st mount at 21k kms. (under warranty), second at 36k kms. (not covered under extended warranty) and now the 3rd one is due at 59k kms.
