Guys my Civic's passenger side is getting wet under the carpet.I have removed the rubber mats in place to let the carpet dry for now.My mechanic joe says it's not the a/c drainage which is leaking but will need to remove the entire carpet and see where the leakage is coming from.Any ideas what it could be due to ?
As of now i have kept the job on hold.
Attaching a pic of the carpet.

If it is not the AC drainage, at least the offending portion of the carpet will have to be folded back.
can be your blocked rain water drain which is throwing water in.
and if water is from exactly behind the glove compartment then it could be hole in the firewall.

Not at all. I have a Civic running 7th year. 31k on Odo. I recall it was just around 24 k at 5th year.

Neat. That's some running. But if you see such stats, the chances that there has been some tampering are higher than it be a genuine figure :)

Guys,
My brother has seen a used Civic owned by a father's friend, details:
2008 bangalore registered white colour
22k done with manual transmission
Yet to see the car and test drive it.
Let me know what price we can offer?
Is it worth buying a 5 yesr old car, will the maintenance costs be very high?
What should I look specially in the car to make a decision?
Look forward to your suggestions.

Guys
We spoke to the owner, its a 1.8V.
He is expecting a whopping 9 lakhs for the car.
So we decided to drop it.

9 lakhs is a crazy price! 6 lakhs is the max you can go for a 2008 V AT. You will definitely find a car for even less if you look around.

Mine is 3 years plus and has done under 12,000. So it is not that unusual. It is my second car used only for highway runs. Local running is almost totally on the Brio and earlier Santro.

Wow. You should use it more. It's fun to drive :D
@Anybody can tell me where I can source tail lamps from?
Is it just here in Jaipur or everywhere that I see used Honda Civic prices going up again, I came across a few car dealers selling different civic MT of late 2007 at 3.5 to 4.25 Lacs 4 months back. Now all asking 4.5-5 Lacs for the same cars! Is our favorite ride in heavy demand?
They may have stopped manufacturing the Civic but like an old vintage it seems to be ageing really well.
Count me in too. My Civic is a March 2010 model and I have recently completed 12K kms. If this is not enough, then my Esteem completes 10 years in October of this year and I have clocked 47K kms till date.
But I agree to the point made. Unless one personally knew the owner and the way the car was maintained, it is hard to decipher whether they are genuine miles on the odo or not.
Hi All
Civic is 2007 Feb model, done close to 90 K kms. No issues. Recently faced a vibration on the steering wheel at 65Kmph, and then there was jarring noise. Wheel alignment and balancing done no major change, the issue recurred. The ASC said it is disc issue and disc skimming was done.
Engine mounting replaced at 45K kms, the ASC says no need to touch it now.
The vehicle was back to normal for 4 days, issue is recurring at times. need to send it ASC, request inputs from users or experts ?

My civvie just completed 7 yrs this month. Till last year the running was only 26k, as the car was only used on weekends and for long drives. It is only after my job change that commute has increased and put kms on the odo. Happens sometimes but yes we need to be careful while buying used examples.

I agree. 9L is crazy. Mine is 2007 V AT and when I wanted to sell it 2 years back on a whim, no one offered more than 6.5L to 7L.
I trust now i may not get more than 5 now if I were to sell it. Despite low running and excellent maintenance. Decided to keep it as no other option is so much fun to drive.
The max you should pay for 2008 model is 5.5L to 6L if superbly maintained. Otherwise 5L is the tops.
