Now just yesterday i got my K&N typhoon intake air filter cleaned and oiled properly and the problem is completely gone now baby! Its back to its usual acceleration and brute force. And it redlines to glory everytime i try it!

My only concern is the smoothness of power delivery. Though the acceleration is typical of 1.8T engine but somehow its not as smooth or linear. I'm suspecting the throttle body as it might need cleaning as well. Any precautions should i take before getting the throttle body cleaned??
How much did the performance intake helped in the first place? when you first fitted it, my gut feel it really is waste of money.

Throttle body cleaning can be done by any competent mech, yes you might require access to software and scanner if you need to reset the parameters as in ajmats case. Also you might need to replace the gaskets/packing once the unit is removed from intake.

Let me add something on airfilters, from experience. I use Green wind in my Swift and K&N in my bullet 500. These filters are good, but dont go with the manufacturers claim of great cleaning intervals. In our country, where it is dusty and lots of oil/carbon on road atmosphere, you need a shorter cleaning period. 15K tp 20K KM cleaning period is just a myth here, better to do it 5K. You can DIY clean these in simple steps. I always clean both filters myself with respective cleaning kits and see lots of dirt. And I get a smooth ride on both vehicles everytime I clean it.

thanks a lot for your support and wishes guys..
@jaggu--> To be honest you are right. I would rather move back to the original filter assembly with stock replacement K&N filter put into it. Would be more then sufficient i guess.
@redfire, you are 100% correct buddy.
BTW i'm just curious why will i have to replace the gaskets if i get the throttle body cleaning done. Are they expensive??

It depends, if you manage to remove the TB without damaging the gasket, no replacement will be required, but if it tears then change to avoid any air leaks. Cost me no ideas
