The veracity of these claims are questionable. Though the article mentions it to be a "fuel efficiency rally", the conditions in which this was achieved would have been far from the "real world".

Thats an interesting piece of news. Can you elaborate more? was this i10 1.1 or 1.2?

As mentioned earlier my i10 1.2A/T gives me 7-7.75kmpl. Just going OT, my other car is the often bashed & the under rated Logan DSL which gives me 15-16kmpl in city with 100% a/c and gave me 24kmpl with 4 people on board on a trip to Daman, 23kmpl with 5 adults + 1 kid on a trip to Shirdi including climbing ghats all with 100% a/c. Other than looks, i can't seem to find any other fault with the Logan.

Hey guys, I own an i10 magna kappa. I consistently get > 18 KMPL on highways and within Bangalore city I get close to 14. I use the full tank to full tank method to calculate the mileage.

My hometown is just 200 KMS from Bangalore; I drive down to my hometown every week end. While going I need to fill only 10 ltrs of petrol and while coming I need 12 litres of petrol. Since while coming, the roads are bit steep hence the extra 2 litres. I have calculated this for the past 6 months and I am confident that my i10 gives me good mileage. I am yet to finish off my 2nd service, which I am planning to do it next month. After which hopefully the mileage should increase.

Even I have seen the advertisement of 41 KMPL in Hyundai service center back in my home town. I became very curious and asked the service person and he just gave me a sarcastic smile. I knew that it is just a marketing gimmick.

If its a free road i rest my left foot on floor, but if its traffic then would rest it on clutch pedal without engaging it.
Try not to rest your foot on the clutch pedal. My Dad's Maruti800 needed clutch replacement at 20000 km because of 'clutch-riding'. Guess mileage would also be affected if you rest your foot on the clutch.

He must be pushing the car for 30 kms

But seriously. when will Hyundai master the art of advertisement? Such ads will only lead to disillusioned customers.

If hyundai can give me truck loads of money, I can very well stand there and claim that I got 45kmpl. lol..
