Shiv - typically 40K service comes to around 6000-7000 Rs. 18K is a high amount you have paid. Sang's charges are reasonable. What is missing though is the coolant system cleaning, replacement of coolant and break bleeding.

Seems okay. I paid just under Rs 5000/- for my 40k service last week. The Air induction system cleaning was Rs. 600/-. I replaced the air filter few months back, seem to remember it was around Rs 350/- I did not change my engine oil as it was done at 35K with Mobil1.
Required service at 40K should include brake overhaul, brake fluid replace, gear oil replace, spark plugs replace, coolant replacement.

The bill seems pretty reasonable. It aint expensive as baleno services are perceived to be. Makes me want for Baleno.

Element Air cleaner is actually Air filter and Air induction overhaul is throttle body cleaning. As for the brakes, it has been mentioned in the job card to clean it and spark plugs to be replaced, if needed after inspection.

Early this month, our Baleno went in for a major service at 35K kms. The bill was around 3,370.
I had asked them to look into suspension, injector cleaning, throttle body cleaning, brake fluid replacement, engine oil and oil filter replacement, and normal servicing.

1) Suspension Issue : The car was wobbling at around 20 kmph. Sort of left-right left right quick motions. No issues at any speed. Some noise was coming from left front suspension.

Dealer response : All that was needed is tightening nuts and bolts, lubrication.
Wobbling issue not solved, but everthing is fine.

2) Injector cleaning : Charged around Rs. 300

3) Throttle body cleaning : They did not understand this first. I told them to check everything regarding fuel injection system. Later on mechanic told me its throttle body was cleaned.

I dont remember the cost of other things, but for me the bill was quite less. And the car is actually running fine.

Recent rains has done some damage to my baleno's suspension, at speeds 40km/hr the car is wobbling and bouncing left and right.
I do understand that the ride is a bit bouncy at low speeds and get ironed at high speeds, but this is something which i feel while accelerating..

it has run 40k kms, can some of the components give way if driven predominantly in the city..

Seems reasonable to me.
My Zen needs 4 liters of engine oil as per the service guys.
I asked them why its 4, they said they "round-off".

Seeing this bill 3.3L is possible.

Anyways they don't charge me anything for the occasional bit and even have given free brake fluid top-up when I was having some brake trouble.

My Baleno's 40K service costed me about 8.5 K. All that was mentioned in the booklet was done, including wheel rotation, alignment and balancing.

Wats the Qty column for Air Induction overhaul indicate? 2.44? They cleaned it that many times? LOL....

1.96 Fuel Injector cleaning? Weird values, man, to say the least. Are these labour units, hours, wat?

Well. As per your bill. It doesnt look like a 40k kms service. There are alot of things missing like even the AC servicing, AC & alternator belt change, spark plugs, etc. Either it was not required, which is unlikely after 40k kms or they have just not bothered to do it. No wonder your bill is just 2k! Its more like just a regular service.

Today i gave my baleno for 40K service to Bosch service Bangalore.
Following are the things i have asked him them do.
1) Regular paid service (Rs 650)
Change Engine Oil, gear oil, break fluid, coolant, oil filter.
2) Check the break pads.
3) spark plug check and replace if needed.
4) AC and ALT belt change.

Oil Filter : Rs. 72
Engine Oil : Rs. 760(4 ltr)
One 100/90 bulb : Rs 156.
Engine Flush : rs 350
gear Oil : Rs 462
Throttle body cleaning : Rs 800
4 Wheel break cleaning : Rs 380

Total the bill came out at Rs 3800/-
Checked the AC and alt belt, told that no need to replace.

They told me that clutch got weak and may need to replace soon, looks like it comes around Rs 8000/- I am not feeling any clutch problem/pickup issue as such, may be i am driving daily and got used to it. What all need to be done for a weaker clutch(sounds like real newbie :( )?
