Doesn't cautious driving apply to other cars with airbags ? If driving a Fabia - be cautious, if driving anything else drive like a moron ??

If you know you don't have a parachute you know you must not fly like a moron. If you have a parachute that does not open when need arises what do you do? When you buy a Skoda or a Merc or BMW for that adrenaline rush caution does take a back seat - ship is safest in its port after all! My message is for those who love white water rafting!

Have a 2006 Laura L&K DSG

My AC compressor was also changed - thankfully under warranty.
Turbo failure thrice in the car - at 8,000 kms, 23,000 kms and now at 64,000 kms. First 2 times replaced under warranty.
Discussing the issue with Skoda Auto and local dealer to change the turbo as Goodwill gesture as it is repeated failure of the same part.
Lets see if Skoda Auto is really trying to get its act together or not as far as its After Sales Service is concerned.
I was actually thinking of getting a Skoda Yeti, before this 3rd turbo blowout happened in the last week of October.
Awaiting Skoda's response, Otherwise, off to the Consumer Court.

This is just to request you to be cautious enough while driving though you have air bags in your FABIA.
On a quest for researching most Skoda reviews (rather horror stories) available, I was going through this thread really sorry to learn your part of story. Read the news link that you provided, but could not find the details that Airbags did not function. All I can read is that,

However, they could not throw any light on whether Ojas was sitting on the front passenger or back seat, and if Singh and Ojas were wearing seat belts.
well, I'm not sure about Fabia but most cars with passenger airbags comes with the provision to switch-off that airbag if a kid is seated. They say its safe to keep that off in case of a child passenger as the airbags are designed for adults co-drivers only and infact its harmful to kids (seated on co-driver seat) in case of a collision.

Again, no intention to harm any ailing Skoda owners, just digging all the Skoda reviews as I'm mesmerized by the New Fabia.
