I dont think a Verna facelift should be expected before 2014, as they are testing and preparing themselves for other launches. If you are looking for a Fiesta replacement, why dont you try out the Tjet?

After the fiesta 1.6 I doubt the Verna would really excite you. I'd suggest you look at either the TJet or the new fiesta.

A friend took a new Verna last week and said that now it gets new chrome alloys and a new smaller remote. Was there any change announced by Hyundai recently?

Hey, I noticed that too! Saw a new red stickered Verna with chrome alloys. Initially thought that somebody modified the new car, but at a red signal saw the Hyundai logos on it. I suppose they quietly updated it. Any other modifications been done?

After a water wash yesterday, I found that water has sipped into one of back light consoles. My car is still under warranty.Can I demand for a replacement of the rear light under warranty? Any idea about the cost of the console.

Yes. Changes have been made . New stocks have arrived .. Asked about it to my service advisor
1. New alloys - looked really cool
2. All power window switches comes with led backlit now.
3. And few other slight changes. He said that the suspension is also tweaked a little ( can only confirm after our members drove the car )

Hyundai Verna to get minor updates

The updates include back-lit buttons for the power windows and, on the higher variants, the steering-mounted audio controls will be back-lit as well.
The top-spec Verna will come with re-styled alloy wheels, and that the spare wheel in higher trims will be a steel rim instead of an alloy wheel. Two headrests on the rear seats instead of the current car’s three will be another minor change.
Hyundai also may add LED daytime running lamps on the Verna, similar to the ones seen on the Hyundai i20.

I wonder whether the suspension has been retuned to make the car's ride at higher speed better... Would love the addition of day time running lights to Verna. Would only enhance it's good looks. Would love an official "changelog" :)

I am considering purchasing the Verna Diesel model. My concerns are:
- Suspension (would it thud while going over uneven roads or potholes?)
- Ground clearance (would it scratch the bangalore bumps?)
- Mileage (how much can I expect in City with a/c?)

The suspension is definitely weak for the Verna. And the ground clearance is quite poor as well. With 4 pax and bit of luggage you need to be extremely careful over potholes and bumpers.

I have the AT, and get a mileage of 11.2. But again I drive 100% within city and with AC on the entire time.

I still love the car and the way it drives. The features are extreme VFM so if u have to invest a bit in better suspension/tires/headlamps etc, its still a great buy!!!

Hyundai India had updated their website a few days ago with the Verna's new DRLs and Projector headlamps.

However, today I couldn't find anything on their website which stated that the Verna is getting the said new features.

That was an oversight. The DRLs did not make it the production version, only the new alloys and backlit buttons did. Hence they removed it.

Guys - I am getting < 10 kmpl in city roads (Gurgaon). I am being very careful not to cross 2K rpm at any point on time. The MID display shows from 9.5 to 10.2... but in actual if i calculate (tank full to full method), it comes out to 9....Mine is Petrol Feb 2013 model with 5800 kms onboard. Can anyone with Petrol version please share? Slowly, i am getting frustrated with this now....

Any Verna 1.4 Crdi owners here? A friends' dad is planning to buy the 1.4 Crdi EX variant. I checked the prices and there is about ~50k difference between 1.4 & 1.6 EX variants. Since the useage is 95% city based (45 kms one way to factory, so 90 kms / day & hence diesel is a must) as her dad never drives on the highways so feels that 1.4 should be enough for their useage.

Is this exactly the same 1.4 thats' there in the i20? They are budget bound and car home price <10L and 1.4 EX fits the bill well. They TD Sunny, Scala etc, but had to reject them for some or the other reasons best known to them.
