About the cost, is this the highest variant? How much does the base variant cost?
Yes,its the LX,top end.
Base nano without AC is approximately 1.4Ex shwroom

I am sure the car will look better with the planned mods - with a matching tint and alloys, this can easily become a looker

OT: Any one noticed the decals on new Ace? looks pretty nice and eye pleasing to me.
Thanks, yeah,i was skeptical about the decals, but they look decent, and those are tiny nano's making those circles.

Would it take ICE without any alternator issue and stuff?
Thanks,by ICE i meant, simple HU and speakers,no amp and sub in this tiny car.

Never seen a Nano with Alloys. Waiting for updates from you.
Thanks,Stock alloys are available from Tata at 2K per alloy

Its a head turner of a car. There is a red nano with nice alloys in our colony among the spate of Safaris, Scorps, Corollas, Citys and Swifts, but the Nano is the one which my eyes seek out every time I pass through the colony

Hope you & your dad enjoy the ride.
Thanks

I would suggest you to do it from TATA dealership itself. They do have models of sony, etc stated as TATA approved and as you fit it from a TATA dealer, your warranty will not be void. Or else, especially with the Nano fire incidents plying around, in case of any uneventful happening (I'm sure nothing will ), you might have to face a lot more problems. Though it might cost a bit more, it will be safer I guess.

But do sit along during the installation as you can't be sure about their work either. The only problem is about the warranty getting void!!

And the fog lamps can be switched on only after switching on the park lights.

And yes, it is indeed very annoying as to not being able to constantly check the engine bay. I have never checked the coolant level, but there is no sign of overheating yet. But I guess its high time that I check it.

Cheers!
Thanks,i was able to switch on fog lamps, after playing around with the combination switch,it has a spring action.

But it is fun to drive and zips pretty fast ,very easy to park and making u turn was fun and above all the admiration you get on the road is
Thanks, yeah, its quite spacious, after driving the scorpio, one does not feel out of place.

Re: The Key to Happiness-Sunshine Yellow Nano LX comes home.

Congrats Akshay,

Yesterday after seeing your thread we also went and saw the Tata Nano. It actually feels as if its a worthwhile car for every penny you spend on it. There is oodles of space available for the size it has.

Did not take a test drive as it was in a mall so really cant comment on the driving aspect of it. But I am sure as a city car nothing can really go wrong with it.

Hoping you have lots of beneficial and happy miles with "the key To Happiness"

Regards

EDIT : Could help laughing at your comment " The only other car in contention was VW Beetle"

Jaspreet, till now,i have found the AC to be pretty effective.
inspite,of large glass area,it cools the cabin pretty quickly.
And slighlty offtopic, where did you vanish after attending one offline meet?
Nothing much, just that I got married!

Well, jokes apart, it's just that I work in a 24*7 environment and almost all of the times, whenever a meet is scheduled, either I'm on my work shift or busy in some household chores.

Will make extra effort to meet you guys next time.

After driving around for 2 days, I am loving this tiny little car.
Only grudges are a lack of PS as taking U turns is a task when one is used to a PS vehicle.
Left ORVM is a glaring omission I am so much dependent on it, and it is a pain for me while negotiating traffic without one.
Only 67 kms on odo till now
Will keep updating.

Just be carefull with the left side, since there is a blind spot out there.

67 kms in 2 days is way too less akshay, would love see more niles on your car.

First of all congrats on the car Akshay. I own a Silver Nano too and I love driving it.

So regarding the LHS mirror I have come to know that Tata will be providing the LHS mirror option as an accessory but I am not sure whether you can buy a single one or both LHS and RHS. Try finding out with your dealer about it.

Running in has to be done as per manufacturer recommendations.
Check out the sticker on your windsreen and stritcly follow that.

Its tough, but do it.
I touched 70-80 only 2-3 times during run in period.
Anyways even now when i have crossed 1500K's, i would not like to get her beyond 80 k mark.

Re: The Key to Happiness-Sunshine Yellow Nano LX comes home.

Got Another horn, added,as the stock one was too wheezy.
Took her for a shortish spin on the Highway to test the AC,as it was almost 41 degrees in the afternoon.
Ac turned out to be pretty effective,as the Grill temperature dropped to 3.8 Degrees,in this sweltering heat, and cabin was quite cool, with blower at lowest setting.

Re: The Key to Happiness-Sunshine Yellow Nano LX comes home.

Congratulations for New Nano,

There is nothing to measure in nanos in Nano. The Inside space seems to be amazing compared to outside dimensions. I feel that Tata's Design team has got knack of creating interior space. Take their all new cars, they are having amazing space inside. Tata is also giving lots of features at very low price and they offer good discounts also, hats off Tata. Now a days I feel it difficult to believe that these cars are built by a Truck Manufacturer. When they launched their first car, there was a comment, "A Car Built By a Truck Manufacturer".

Re: The Key to Happiness-Sunshine Yellow Nano LX comes home.

Congratulations!

I drove a Nano for the first time ever today, found it to be a good urban errand runner.

I found the steering to be heavy, it was the top-end CX version. The steering is the hardest I have sampled as of now (air pressure was okay).

EDIT:- Never knew the Car didn't feature a PS unit. We are spoilt by PS's though my arms got a nice work-out. I found it hard to steer and is quite a big -ve point.

I agree, people usually comment,do you fit in nano?
and i ask them to take a look, and most of them have their jaws wide open at the space.

Thanks
Top end is LX,CX has just AC,though even LX doesnt have a PS.
Bhai, even i felt the same, when i drove it for the first time.
this is because,we are so used to PS now, that a non PS seems like a punishment at low speeds.
