I mentioned that one car put the Store interiors in Old safari.
Not an uphill task, but will be a bit costly affair.

Will Tata offer 4x4 in lower variants. I hope Tata does not do the mistake of offering 4x4 only on top variants. It will push the storme out of the budget for some of us.

As of now there are no plans to offer 4X4 in lower variants. They have already got many request from many analysts to offer 4X4 across the variants to remain competitive in market. They are still sorting out the strategy.

From the info what i got is that for initial few months they will manufacture only top end models that will hit the showrooms and then they will start low end ones.

So if i want to buy a LX storme now it will take another 4-5 months. :deadhorse

Not much interested in interiors but will it be possible to fit the new all disk breaking system from Storme to old Safari?

BTW, I would also recommend you to go for current gen LX.

Now, even i have noticed the "krrr krrr" noise in 3rd and 4th gears between 1800-2200rpm on my 5months old Safari, however i feel with the kms adding up the sound has decreased

The latest Safaris have much better interiors then the older once so am not sure if the "interior" will be the deciding factor here?

however i felt the "ride and handling" which is supposed to be superior then old gen, this will be the factor which would have made me atleast look at strome, since you got to drive strome what you felt on this aspect?

Btw whts the price of LX Strome?

anyways am happy with my Safari,:D

2. Noise though negligible on idling is bit more while accelerating through 2000-2300 rpms especially the " Krrrr Krrrr " noise

Also lately i heard that i can swap the interiors of Storme to SAFARI :)

What do you suggest in case of my dilemma ?

Fixing the Storme/Aria disc brakes on current safari is not possible for the following reason.

1. The front and rear hub are different.
2. The matching bearings and shafts + seals are entirely different.
3. The brackets are also different.

If you are too much interested in better brakes i would suggest you to get better slotted rotors.

Ride and Handling both have improved vastly over current safari. But i believe that its more about getting used to. So current safari owners know better to master the handling of their cars.

I felt the body roll is more controlled in STORME. Suspensions are a bit firmer, or may be since the Storme i drove was done 12000kms so pretty new.

The main aspect was the throttle response which i felt was better.

Sorry i cant disclose the exact price but approx 9.5 ish :D

Well whats the point of hiring analysts when Tata motors don't want to listen to them. There is a market for 4x4 Safari Storme LX. Take your time in manufacturing one, but at least offer it to the market.

You are right, me switching over from Adventure dint find it that bad at all, truck behaves very well on the winding roads aswel.

9.5 OTR for LX variant? I am sure it is less than that.

although my question is one liner, and i have been following this thread i am seriously planing to get a small car for city like Reva NXR or something and replace my Linea with a Storme. Would any version be coming with ESP, ESP in XUV W8 helps it handle way better

Linea is already an astonishingly good handling car. No SUV will match a handling of an already good handling Sedan.

Also Sedans already give good mileage than SUVs

Dont think TATA can price it that low, if they do then it will have a serious impact on the sales of Safari LX, Grande and the Sumo gold aswel...

it seems to be tricky situation for TATA.

that's not my concern, i want handling to be at par if nothing amazing. Linea is way too low, and potholes in NCR especially gurgaon are killing her everyday, i was looking for something a long drive cruiser and keep the small one for city drives.

I agree with you mate. The interiors of my 2 month old GX is very nice indeed. No unsightly business, no loose stuff plus the black and tan combination is quite classy.

Mechanically too the current safari seems to have matured. Most of the parts have been shared from the Aria like the wiper stalks, the switches and the hydraulic struts to hold the bonnet etc.

Brakes (abs) is linear and confidence inspiring.

On another note - My expectation is as a first step Tata must fix niggles on the first go at an A.S.S at the very least. When Mahindras can offer this facility, why not Tata.

I am personally okay with niggles (for a head start) as longs the A.S.S can fix them within a reasonable time. I hope the Aria scenario of parts not being available recurrs here.

Design wise the products are good but niggles is what let Tata down.

Coming to the catch points:

The dual mass flywheel issues!! Can you say confidently that they are sorted out? :)

I dont know exactly what to do , but many forces are hinting me to buy the proven(not fully defect free) old TATA SAFARI LX.

Could you please elaborate on the above mentioned two points? Since you have driven the car, it will give us others a good view point. Thanks.
