We all seem to be hating the fact that it comes with a single din system.

Simple solution that struck me was to add a single din touch screen system with DVD player.

Looks pretty decent doesn't it?

Power wise i dint find much difference and both engines drove the same.

From some posts, it looks like the final drive/axle ratio is now 4.1 vs the 3.73 of the Safari. So, presumably the acceleration will be the much better than the Safar even with the same engine gearbox combo. Do you know if it is changed to 4.1?

But it will block the Ac vents. I checked it in old safari. Hope the same in Strome too.

Wheel-o-mania reports that Safari Storme will be launched on 24th of September, 2012.

the wait is not far now and Tata Motors will launch the SUV in India on 24th September 2012. It has also been speculated that the car would first be launched in Chandigarh and subsequently in other parts of the country.

A better option would be a split unit like those in Audi with a pop up screen ontop of the center console where the storme has a cubby hole with a lid, and a single DIN HU below...

Not difficult to engineer!

A couple of days back spotted a brown Safari Storme at Prabhadevi! I stopped following this thread months back, I was under the impression that this car was launched sometime back & was a market dud hence didn't see any on the road!lol: But after reading the last few posts, it turns out they still haven't launched it!
The Storme i spotted was not registered, it had the usual stance & road presence, I did not like the grille & also it had no spare wheel mounted at the back which was one of the things i liked about the Safari.
With the Duster & XUV selling like hot cakes, i feel its going to be a struggle for Tata to sell this dated product.

I am not sure these can be called "Test" vehicles. These are pre-production vehicles, given to few people to use in "normal real life situations" to get feedback. I doubt RTOs will exempt company owned vehicles that are given to employees.

Looks wise i like the current safari than the Storme. But if someone wants to buy a Safari and can wait i would say go for Storme.

I had driven Storme before buying current safari. Me buying current safari was due to time constraint and price + unknown reliability of Storme.

However i feel storme will be better reliable vehicle.

Hi Amit,

Thanks for the information.
Could you please let me know the following info.

Is storme's Second Row a reclinable seat?. Can we slide the second row seat so that third row space can be adjusted?

Cheers

Prajeesh

Unveiled earlier this year at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, the Tata Safari Storme was expected to hit showrooms around June. The launch got delayed due to unexplained reasons but with the festival season approaching, there is a strong possibility that the SUV will finally see the light of day.....

The Safari Storme is essentially a face-lift ........

The Safari Storme borrows several features from the Aria including the chassis and suspension for better ride and handling. Even the engine is similar to the Aria's - a more refined and responsive 2.2-litre DiCOR mill that develops 142PS of power and 320Nm of torque. The five-speed manual gearbox, too, has undergone tweaks for a better driving experience. Other improvements include a shorter turning radius, disc brakes all round and ABS.
According to ET, it is a facelift, but chassis and suspension are new!lol:

Why not ? Tavera is as much a people mover as the Sumo, the Grande, and the Winger

Sumo, Grande, Winger yes. But Tata Safari Storme, a people mover? I wouldnt classify it as such.

To add to what Sachin said, this might be one of the reason why they did not put 7 seats in the Safari.
So, it'll not not got to taxi segment and people who will own Safari , will own it because it is Safari and not just any other vehicle. :)

Has TATA soft-launched Safari Storme already? I have seen two of them in Pune (Kothrud, specifically) in last week or so, both of them had proper registration (not the temp ones that we usually see)...

As per a post made in another forum, Concorde Delhi, is accepting booking for Storme and launch date is stated as Oct 17th. One person has booked it
