I wasn't aware if there would be any changes or not, hence asked...

By the way, my Punto 90 hp also does 100@2500 rpm- very high for a diesel engine IMO. Swift does it in 2200 rpm- and it shows in the refinement and mileage at cruising speeds.
Are you sure the Swift D does 100kmph @ 2,200 revs? IIRC, it does 100 @ 2,500 revs & 120 @ 3,000 revs.

And most diesel engines, I get to drive do 80kmph @ 2,000 revs. Pajero SFX, Scorpio VLX, Figo D. The 2.2 Safari is pegged at ~90kmph @ 2,000 revs. Its the same for Swift as far as I can remember.

Please correct me if I am wrong :-)

Punto does this, that i can confirm 100%. But I am sure Swift runs a lot taller gearing. Since I don't have one myself, let me dig deeper for exact info. This was discussed few months back in detail in another thread (I believe it was either Fiat Punto thread/ my ownership thread).

Any swift D owners who happen to notice this conversation - please feel free to contribute.

My dzire (new gen) does 100kmph @ 2200-2300 rpm. I hope it helps.

Exactly what I was looking for!

Can you also post for 80 kmph and 120 kmph? Punto (And figo too, IIRC) does 80@ 2000, 100@2500 and 120@3000 rpm.

I wanted to mention something i didn't on my ownership review. The newer figo seems to retain similar characteristics to the older figo but somehow tends to accelerate real quick post 1400-1500rpm and this rush holds on to 2700-2800 rpm and it literally feels like its moving. This is something i didn't experience on the td car. Somehow i feel the newer figo has a better tuning as far as the ecu is concerned.
Thanks Arch

There's noticeable difference after the remap.
But, the power band and gearing is too short and i miss the VGT.

I also own Figo TDCI. mine is ZXI.
Just love this car & is a nicely packaged car by Ford.

Petes Door light is a lovely addition to your car. would love to see a closer snap of the inside door in the dark as well as in the daylight to understand it better.

Wish you zillion miles of happy & safe drive with Figo!
Thanks aj

Will post more pics of the door light.

Congrats. Look forward to your petes experience. Drive Safe.
Thanks Gemi.

Has the remap lowered rpm's as well while cruising? For eg - At 100kmph, the stock Figo does it at 2,500 revs. Any changes on that front?

Thanks Sheel.
RPM and speed will remain same after remap.
What changes is, the time to reach a certain speed.

I have a question about Pete's door light:
How does it work!? Is it through a door-sill-plate like thingy attatched on the underside of the doors, so that when the doors are opened, the 'Pete's' logo would be visible on the road/surface? What about the rear doors? Do they also have door light?

Drive safe.
Thanks Loud
Door light is like a torch with a film in between which has the Petes logo.
When the light is on, the logo gets projected on the surface.

Figo 100 @ 2500 RPM
Getz 100 @ 2000 RPM

I have seen swift doing 100 @ 2500 RPM. Got to check again if the new gen has different gear ratios.

Are they for all 4 doors? A daylight pic of the same would be appreciated.

Hi KP ! glad to see the story of a remapped Figo.. I own a Figo to.. titanium D and am using the racechip though... please let me know if it's convenient to meet up sometime in the week end.. I live in gurgaon sec-56. I'd love a little test drive and little details to motivate myself to for a remap myself,

Re: Kpzen->Kpgetz->Kpfigo : Remapped Figo TDCi

Bumped into the thread today and finished it at one go. I am getting my Figo TDCI on Monday and that made me go through this thread quite eagerly and I am waiting for your remap thread to unfurl soon.
BTW, will the Pete's tune up void the warranty as Ford is always looking for reasons to use the iron whip.

I haven't driven the older Vdi as extensively as I have driven the Zdi. And I recall the same.

Hello kpzen

New swift does 80 just below 2000 RPM , and it does 100 just about 2300 RPM . I will be going to gurgaon tomorrow , so will post the snap of RPM vs km/hr here . I find the 4th gear shorter in my new swift then the old swift . . I have both old and new swift so will post both the comparison here .

congrats KPzen on your new acquisition. You have given a very unbiased comparison against the other hatchbacks. I think thats the USP of Figo. Other than ride dynamics there is nothing that outshines other cars, but it aint too bad to be a deal breaker either. It offers decent amount of interiors space and rear leg room and still offer class leading boot space. This is what sealed the deal for me.

By the way I think figo does 100 at around 2300-2400 rpm, if you get to exact 2500 on the tacho, the speed is getting close to 110. Let me know if you have the same observation.
