Do you notice any change in the infotainment system after software update?
After the firmware update, I used the car for only a few kms. So, I didn't have a chance to check it fully. I did pairing of my phone for navigation and didn't find any issue during that short time. There were no any visible changes in the UI as well. After clocking some more kms on the odo for few more days, I will share my updates.

The updated firmware version: 01.000.301

Congratulations on the Elevate ! Must compliment you on the detailed pictorial review of the car - it pretty much gives a good introduction of the car to anyone who is considering buying this.

shan_ned Your report is simply one of the very best reviews of any vehicle from a user perspective. In all likelihood, your review is turning the tables for me to go in for Honda Elevate. Kudos!

Thanks !!!. Irrespective of which car you decide on, even if this review makes a miniscule contribution in your decision making process, I will be happy.

Best wishes for getting the right car which meets your requirements.

Re: MY2024 Honda Elevate VX Silver MT Ownership Review

This was a delightful, I am in the market for a mid-SUV and am absolutely torn between the Elevate and Creta. Now I'm leaning more towards the Honda, because when its all said and done, I want a drivers car, and Honda makes cars for those who are discerning with practicality and reliability being the key tenets.

Re: MY2024 Honda Elevate VX Silver MT Ownership Review

Many congratulations shan_ned on your new Honda Elevate. Fantastic articulation of the entire buying process and so much details of every aspect that any potential buyer should be looking at.

I couldnt agree more with your thoughts on simplicity in design whose philosophy you so beautifully explained through the quote on Unix designs.

I will be closely following your thread as i would be in the market in the near future for replacing my 12 year old Honda City which has been my workhorse for long. It has been a fuss-free ownership over the years. For me fuss free ownership and safety supercedes everything else. Hence Honda Elevate is already on top of my potential list.

Wishing you endless miles of happy and fuss free ownership of your Elevate

I couldn't agree more with your thought process and loved to read such a detailed write up. Elevate is solid built car which is practical and will serve its purpose without any drama for a long time. I wish Honda could have launched this model at least a decade back.
In India most of the automotive brands are running the feature list race while there is little focus quality control and long term ownership experience. Honda is still able to come on top in those categories which is a priority for some of the buyers (minority).

Wish you a wonderful experience with your new Elevate.

In my case, I already made up in my mind that I would not go with any non-Japanese brands for the reasons that are mentioned in this thread. You can try test driving both Elevate and Creta before taking a final call.

I understand your thoughts. If you are so used to very good/fuss free long term ownership from a brand, you will prefer to stick with the same brand for an upgrade. Moving from City to Elevate may not be an upgrade except for the ride quality. Then, you, owing a car from Honda for 12 years, know the brand very well on what it offers.

The market sentiment is different than what we (minority) think . A couple of years back, a friend of mine was looking for a car. His thought process was about owning a feature rich car which he could enjoy just for 4 to 5 years and sell it. Many people want panoramic sunroof as a mandatory feature. Having a premium interior with many gadgets is one of the most important aspects that many look for. Of course, the competing brands are investing their resources to be highly competitive. On the other hand, Honda seems to be happy with their laid back approach (though they may be disappointed with less than average sales of Elevate).

Re: MY2024 Honda Elevate VX Silver MT Ownership Review

This is the best review I have read in recent times. You perfectly described all Pros and Cons, without any fanboy-ism. You have knowledge and still shown such humbleness. There is a slight bias in my this comment because I think like you. But facts are after all facts. What you described about simplicity of NA engines and benefits of Port Injection are on point.

And some of the facts about Honda Brand Philosophy, as far as I know: Easy to live with, Fun to drive (read steering response and ride quality on highway speeds), user friendly controls and no cost cutting on fundamentals (read engine, suspension, gearbox etc).

There are other brands which will provide what Masses want (Panoramic sunroofs and soft touch points etc.) but do cost cutting on things which are hidden from the view.

Congratulations on the legendary ivtec engine. Wish you many many happy miles.

Very detailed and crisp review. Can you share the effectiveness of ac in the back seat? Maybe from your family members?

Thanks !!!
Yes, AC works well and it is effective in the rear seat as well. This is without the MaxCool feature or the Automatic climate control.

I used to set the temp at around 25 degree celsius and the fan speed at 3 bars. The rear seat passengers feel pleasant with these settings. Increasing the fan speed further makes the cabin too cold (in the current monsoon season).

Re: MY2024 Honda Elevate VX Silver MT Ownership Review

It felt like i went through my own journey and head while reading your article because i thought process and buying process was almost identical to yours !!
I have purchased Elevate VX MT Pearl White in March'24 and same thing happened of shifting from V MT to VX MT at last moment even after giving the token amount and just before final disbursement.

Anyways, can you please share the cost of Anti Rust Treatment? Thanks in advance.

Glad to know that the thought process was same
Best wishes for many more happy and safe miles on your Elevate.

The Anti-Rust treatment was done for the exhaust system ONLY and it costed me Rs.1700/-. The dealer suggested to go for the entire underbody Anti-Rust coat and I didn't opt for it. I remember it was quoted for around Rs.5000/- (approximately).

I have covered close to 1000 kms after the firmware update. I haven’t seen the Android disconnect issue till now. I faced the problem a couple of times before the update. I think the new firmware update may have fixed the software bug related to Android disconnect. Then, in the official review thread for Honda Elevate, there are posts mentioning about the disconnect issue being present even after the firmware update (due to analog signal interference).
