hello lingadalli - congratulations on ur new purchase . I like many others ,was waitng eagerly for a bhpians report apart from the tdrive reports posted here & on other forums- hope u will keep us updated .

regarding the dust entering through the scoop , i guess you will have to get the air filter cleaned earlier & more frequently than prescribed in the manual. drive carefully & enjoy ur ride

I guess that Mahindra will introduce a screen / Filter for the sir-scoop in their next update / upgrade.

In other engines (without air scoops) the air is drawn in thro' the front and is filtered to some extent by the radiator fins.

M&M might have rushed this one. We all have seen this much too often; manufacturers in their zeal to take out new models, fail to iron out glitches, and the consumer has to go through all the crap. We become test subjects. Furthermore, if a fault is found, apart from a Honda or a Toyota, car companies fail to even recognize the fault, or call back for replacements.

hi guys, i had the mhawk for a one full day testdrive(since our family friend has a showroom)..it was fun driving it..the torque is very addictive..bodyroll is drastically reduced than the pervious versions..but i didnt feel that gear knob vibration nor any other snags with the car..handling is simply superb. most important: engine noise reduced by atleast 90%. overall I LUV IT.

here are the pics:

The size of the picture is huge. You need to resize it.

So in effect you got to test drive a brand new Scorpio for one whole day and ultimately this particular vehicle will be sold off as new to an unsuspecting customer?

That is exactly the point, I did Test drive for atleast 6 times. Every time I did the test ride I just fell in love with this SUV.But the reality of SUV is exposed only after a couple of long drives. I bet you would not have driven more then 100 Kms at a stretch. Once we do a minimum of 100 to 200 kms, the true colors are out. I observed the gear knob to be vibarating a bit too much. Most of the high fundu techy stuff they claim still works but intermittently. Agreed to the handling part, It is lot lot better then the earlier 2.6 engine. Rocky Beige color rocks on SUV atleast to my eyes.

I wish if they had given a decent Music System and speakers. I wish if they had given some decent seat covers, Leather would have been ideal.

And lingadalli says its deceptive?? Is mahindra not giving reliable parts and giving cheapo parts instead?

But oh come on!! Cruise control, the first Indian manufacturer to give cruise control. I'm sure they got the idea from Renault. Renault should put it in the Logan then.

On the other hand, nice review! Its all nonsense about what the dealer said about your alloys being oily etc,it has to be just brake dust,no worries. It can be washed away in a normal way.

Btw,badboyscad,nice pictures,thanks for them.

One Question....
How much fast can this Scorpio go....
I could reach 100 Kms on 5th gear at 2300RPM, the dash board shows 8000 RPM.

Mahindra cliams we can go at 150 with ease.
