Thanks a lot for your kind words.
I agree with some of the issues you mentioned even our Aveo’s trip meter stopped working after 6 years, also the windows have had their fair share of issue.

On multiple occasions we have had the urge to sell our Aveo, In 2016 we had finalised a deal for it at 1.2 lakhs but backed out due to emotional constraints.
And Yes it is really boring to drive especially after driving city and civic for years, but my father and I both agreed that I should learn on Aveo instead as it is more slower and unresponsive.

The Black colour was definitely a looker.

What!!?? You are 16 years old now, and you're claiming that you've started to read this forum 8 years ago. So does that mean you started following Team-BHP while you were 8 years old?

Hey buddy,
Thanks a lot for your kind words, I believe we car lovers, who connect with our cars, don’t let them go so easily. Wish you many more miles with your SX4.

Re: Why I decided to buy Chevrolet Aveo 1.4

Very well written mate. Reading it and seeing the photos brought back memories of our Aveo 1.6 which we had until a few months back. The car was a hoot to drive and the ride quality was excellent too, for a car of it's age.

The first edition Optra used to come in the same colour AFAIK.
Pre-facelift Optra was never sold in blue colour. The Icy Blue which came with Magnum in 2007 was a lighter shade.

Don't know where to look for pictures but I'm pretty sure the 2003/4 models came in a similar dark blue. This was back when Optra also had an automatic and 1.8 petrol.
Icy Blue was available in many Chevy cars later on.

Hey buddy,
Thanks a lot for your kind words. Even though we had the 1.4, when we had bought it, our neighbours had bought a 1.6 Aveo, and it was a much more agile and enthusiastic to drive. But it gave a really low mileage, which made us go for 1.4l model. Thanks

Re: Why I decided to buy Chevrolet Aveo 1.4

Hey lad, I know this is an old post but I just came by it. My dad too had bought an Aveo in December of 2007 which was delivered in January of 2008. The car is only a few months younger to me and I too have spent a lot of my childhood in it. Now that he is no more, my mom let me make the decisions for the car.

I have been encouraged to let go of it but I by no means am interested. I really love the car and don't want to let her go. It's now been more than a year since I last gave it ignition. It's been through the harsh Mumbai heat and rains.

I would love to get some advices, if you could. Seeing that you have a similar model and could help me out a lot!

Re: Why I decided to buy Chevrolet Aveo 1.4

Recollecting my memories with my Aveo 1.6 LT, that I bought in 2006. It was with me until 2009, and given to a good friend who still owns it and maintains it well.
It was a replacement for my 5 year old Santro, and was with us for 36K kms, driven through many hill stations. The variable value geometric Turbo made it very power, with sheer road presence.
You can still see some of my old posts in this Forum. This was a heart over brain decision at that time. I liked Fiesta, But loved this one.
