Mint White Fiat Palio MJD SDX- 1800KM - First service Report

Dear Team,
Thank each one of you for guiding me in buying this wonderful car! Am enjoying each and every metre of asphalt in it! And also Proud to drive one of the Best Hatchbacks.
Been almost a month owning this beast .Eager to share and seek advise with TBHP mates.

The Dealer was Malik Cars,Himayatnagar.The buying experience was not as satisfying as expected,inspite of having my relative working there!!
Having decided not to go back to the same dealer workshop for Servicing,a chance reading of Himanshu' Sir post on his Safari service made me rethink and take a chance with the Towlichowki workshop as it was also nearest to my place .And the result was too good .
So, a BIG Thank You to Himanshu Sir for helping me through the post.
The vehicle running smooth and solid.
Accessory list:Seat covers - Art Leather @5000,Sun Film - LLUMAR @2200.Sony Xplod HU - old from previous car,Blaupunkt Speakers,Front/Back@4800.No Remote lock installed as Autocop/Xenos not approved by FIAT.Awaiting approved kits from FIAT shortly as informed by Malik Cars.Presently Remote for FIAT 500 @ 24000 !!! available for fitment.Seperate kits for Palio not available.Anyhow trying at other dealers too.
Keeping the RPM below 2500rpm presently as suggested in 'Run-in Thread' here.Going through the gears carefully and steadily.Not slotting to 5th below 60KMPH due to vibrations in engine.Sticking to 4th @ 40-55KMPH at 1800-2100RPM.
Minor rattles from boot due to jack and spare tyre.Other rattles from rear doors.Seems normal.Thinking of adjusting at workshop soon.
First Servicing done@ 1575 KM.Engine oil changed as recommended by TBHP.HP Diesel Engine oil supplied by TATA/FIAT used.Thinking of switching to MOBIL 1 after 15K service.Request TBHP mates to advise.
Current mileage @ 14 KMPL with 100% AC and atleast 25 mins of Idling at Traffic signals.Never slotted to 5th since speeds never crossed 60KMPH.
Planning to go for first long drive for 500km this weekend.Would test 5th Gear above 60 KMPH above 2000RPM-below 2500RPM.

Thanks for the good words.Will heed your advice.
First Service cost - Rs.934/ for Engine oil + oil filter .Oil was HP Super oil.Dont remember the oil rating.
Labour was free.

Good review and write-up Alton. This information will help me a lot as my cousion is looking for a Diesel car under 6 lacs and I did test drive the Palio SDX for him. I really liked the car. Nice pictures as well. Have fun and drive safe.

A lovely looking car. The rattles form the parcel tray is normal over rough roads and can be minimised by some DIYs.

Rattles in a palio is not at all normal. I have a 2001 GTX and it still doesn't rattle.

Please ensure to get it fixed.
